Nick Tepesch struggled in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits over his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Tepesch also issued three free passes while striking out three on the afternoon. Ian Happ was responsible for all of the damage against him, lining an RBI single into right field in the first inning and adding on a solo shot in the fourth. He'll carry an underwhelming 5.17 ERA and 1.98 WHIP into Friday's matchup against the Twins. He should continue to be avoided for fantasy purposes. Aug 19 - 5:34 PM

Nick Tepesch worked six innings of one-run ball Monday in a win over the Rays.

It was his first major league victory since 2014. Tepesch walked three batters and didn't strike out anybody, but he held the Rays to four hits and may have bought himself another turn in the Jays' rotation. We wouldn't expect any repeat performances, however.
Aug 14 - 10:15 PM

Nick Tepesch was knocked around for five runs in 4 1/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

He surrendered eight hits and three of them left the yard in a hurry. Gary Sanchez, Todd Frazier and Didi Gregorius all took him deep for solo taters. Frazier touched him up gain with a double that plated two runs in the fifth inning. Tepesch was acquired from the Twins for cash considerations just before the trade deadline. Today was his first start as a Blue Jay. He had a lowly 5.88 ERA in 49 minor league innings this year before his call-up.
Aug 10 - 12:19 AM

Blue Jays purchased the contract of RHP Nick Tepesch from Triple-A Buffalo.

Tepesch will start Wednesday against the Yankees. He holds a 4.69 ERA at the major league level and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.
Aug 9 - 12:29 PM

Nick Tepesch will be called up from Triple-A Buffalo to start Wednesday against the Yankees.

Tepesch, acquired from the Twins last month for cash considerations, holds a 4.69 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 137/73 K/BB ratio in 224 2/3 career innings at the major league level. The 28-year-old right-hander is not a recommended fantasy streaming option versus the Bronx Bombers.
Aug 8 - 10:26 PM

Blue Jays acquired RHP Nick Tepesch from the Twins for cash considerations.

The 28-year-old has spent the majority of the season in the minor leagues where he has posted a 6.81 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 33/12 K/BB ratio over 37 innings. This is nothing more than a minor league depth move for the Jays.
Jul 23 - 7:15 PM

Twins re-signed RHP Nick Tepesch to a minor league contract.

The 28-year-old right-hander was released by Minnesota last week to open a roster spot for Chris Heston. He is currently on the disabled list with Triple-A Rochester due to a hamstring strain.
Jun 13 - 5:32 PM

Twins released RHP Nick Tepesch.

The Twins just claimed Chris Heston off waivers from the Dodgers, with Tepesch's release serving as the corresponding move. The 28-year-old right-hander has appeared in just two major league games over the last two seasons. He will try to latch on elsewhere as a free agent.
Jun 7 - 6:22 PM

Twins optioned RHP Nick Tepesch to Triple-A Rochester.

The 28-year-old made just one start for the Twins, allowing seven runs in 1 2/3 innings. No word yet from the Twins on a corresponding move, though fans of the club continue to clamor for Jose Berrios to join the rotation.
May 12 - 10:21 PM

Nick Tepesch will make another start for the Twins on Thursday against the White Sox.

Tepesch got blown up for seven runs over just 1 2/3 innings of work on Saturday against the Red Sox, but he was surprisingly kept on the active roster after that outing. The right-hander obviously makes for a poor fantasy streaming option versus Chicago.
May 9 - 5:05 PM

Nick Tepesch was obliterated in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox, surrendering seven runs (one earned) on five hits in just 1 2/3 innings of work.

Tepesh navigated the first inning without any damage but ran into a buzzsaw in the second. After retiring the first two hitters, Chris Young clubbed a solo homer to get the party started. After that, Sandy Leon singled and Josh Rutledge reached on an error that should have ended the inning. The next five Red Sox all reached to break the game open and chase the right-hander. It would be shocking if he got another start for the Twins.
May 6 - 6:22 PM

Nick Tepesch will start for the Twins on Saturday against the Red Sox.

"I’d imagine there’s a good chance he’ll get more than one chance but I can’t say that as an absolute," manager Paul Molitor told reporters Thursday. Tepesch has not made an appearance this season at the major league level and he holds a 4.68 career ERA and 1.37 career WHIP. There are far better streaming options in mixed fantasy leagues.
May 4 - 12:18 PM

Twins purchased the contract of RHP Nick Tepesch from Triple-A Rochester.

He'll take the place of Buddy Boshers, who was sent down after Sunday's game. The 28-year-old Tepesch had a 2.00 ERA through his first three starts in Triple-A this year, but figures to pitch in a long relief role with the big club.
Apr 24 - 2:57 PM

Nick Tepesch is expected to join the Twins on Monday in Texas.

The right-hander would be taking the place of Buddy Boshers who was sent down to Triple-A Rochester after Sunday's game. Tepesch would provide a fresh arm in the bullpen with the ability to go multiple innings.
Apr 23 - 7:09 PM

Twins reassigned RHP Nick Tepesch to minor league camp.

Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune notes that this means Michael Tonkin and Justin Haley are both likely to make the Opening Day roster. Tepesch, a non-roster invitee, compiled a 4.41 ERA and 9/9 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings this spring.
