Orioles acquired RHP Ben Rowen and C Chris O'Brien from the Dodgers for RHP Ryan Webb, C Brian Ward, and a 2015 competitive balance pick (No. 74 overall).
Rowen, a sidearmer, owns a 1.77 ERA with 7.4 K/9 and 2.1 BB/9 over 177 relief appearances in the minors. The 26-year-old made his major league debut with the Rangers last season before latching on with the Dodgers over the winter. He had thoracic outlet surgery this offseason and only recently resumed throwing to hitters, but he's someone who could prove useful for Baltimore in the long run. Apr 9 - 5:28 PM

Dodgers reassigned RHP Ben Rowen to minor league camp.

Rowen has terrific minor league numbers, but he struggled in a cup of coffee last season with the Rangers and he's buried on the Dodgers' organizational relief depth chart. Rowen throws at an extreme submarine angle. He underwent thoracic outlet surgery this offseason and faced hitters Wednesday for the first time this spring.

Dodgers signed RHP Ben Rowen to a minor league contract.

It's not clear whether he's been invited to spring training. Rowen holds a 1.72 ERA in his minor league career but hasn't been given an extended look in the majors presumably due to his unorthodox submariner style. He's worth a shot for the Dodgers.

Rangers released RHP Ben Rowen.

Rowen was designated for assignment earlier in the week by the Rangers and has now been given his outright release. The 26-year-old should attract interest from teams looking for bullpen help and shouldn't be out of work for long.

Rangers designated RHP Ben Rowen for assignment.

Rowen made it up for a cup of coffee in 2014 but spent most of the season at Triple-A, posting a 3.45 ERA and 31/9 K/BB ratio over 47 innings. The submariner holds a 1.72 ERA in his minor league career and could draw some interest on waivers.

Rangers optioned RHP Ben Rowen to Triple-A Round Rock.

Rowen posted a 4.15 ERA over eight relief appearances with the big club. He'll return to a 2.75 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 14/2 K/BB ratio in 19 2/3 innings at Triple-A.

Ben Rowen (biceps) has been cleared for throwing.

Rowen battled some biceps tendinitis earlier this month and was shut down for about a week as a precautionary measure. The 25-year-old right-hander posted a dominant 0.69 ERA in 65 2/3 innings last season in the minors and is hoping to win an Opening Day bullpen job.

Ben Rowen is dealing with some biceps tendinitis that has him behind at the start of camp.

Rowen, 25, posted a 0.69 ERA over 65 2/3 innings in the minors last season and was added to the Rangers' 40-man roster in November. The reliever shouldn't lose that much ground to the arm discomfort and he'll be given a legit chance to win a bullpen job this spring.

Rangers purchased the contract of RHP Ben Rowen from Triple-A Round Rock.

Rowen earned a 40-man roster spot after posting a microscopic 0.69 ERA and 58/17 K/BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings this year between Double- and Triple-A. The 25-year-old submariner has a 1.34 ERA over his first four seasons in pro ball.

The Rangers have added right-hander Ben Rowen to major league camp.

Rowen, 24, had a dominant 1.57 ERA, 19 saves and 52/3 K/BB ratio over 57 1/3 innings last season with High-A Myrtle Beach. That K/BB ratio is not a misprint. Chances are he'll begin the season in the minors, but the Rangers want to see what he can against advanced competition.
