Mariners acquired LHP Mike Kickham from the Cubs for RHP Lars Huijer.

Kickham was just designated for assignment by the Cubs late last week. This will be his third organization since the end of the 2014 season. The 26-year-old spent most of last year with the Giants' Triple-A affiliate, posting a 4.43 ERA with a 131/64 K/BB ratio over 148 1/3 innings. He has an option remaining, so he'll likely begin 2015 in the minors.

Cubs designated LHP Mike Kickham for assignment.

Kickham was just claimed off waivers from the Giants a couple weeks ago, but the Cubs needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Chris Denorfia. There's a decent chance Kickham clears waivers this time.

Cubs claimed LHP Mike Kickham off waivers from the Giants.

Kickham's mainly a reliever, but has made several spot starts for the Giants over the last few seasons. In 28+ innings in 2013, he allowed 46 hits and struggled to the tune of a 10.16 ERA. He spent most of 2014 in Triple-A, where he compiled a 4.46 ERA. While he hasn't shown much in the majors, he could see some action with the Cubs if they need a lefty to fill relief innings.

Giants recalled LHP Mike Kickham from Triple-A Fresno.

Kickham joined the Giants on Tuesday as one of the club's September callups and made a short-lived appearance in Tuesday night's win over the Rockies -- allowing one run on two hits while recording only one out. He'll serve as left-handed relief depth down the stretch.

Giants recalled LHP Mike Kickham from Triple-A Fresno.

Kickham was just sent down to Triple-A Fresno on Thursday, but with the injury to Matt Cain, the club wanted more coverage in the bullpen. The 24-year-old lefty has posted a 10.72 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 24/9 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings with the Giants.

Mike Kickham has been moved to the bullpen.

It's a surprise that he's not in the minors after he was knocked around again during Monday's start, but the Giants have decided to keep Kickham around as a long reliever. Chad Gaudin will rejoin the rotation on Saturday.

Mike Kickham was a bust one more time on Monday, giving up seven runs and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings Monday against the Reds.

It was pretty hard to believe the Giants gave him another chance after he posted a 10.57 ERA in his first two starts. He did manage a flawless first tonight, but managed just five outs after that, one of those on coming on a sac bunt. Barring an even more stunning decision to keep him in the rotation, he'll take an 0-3 record and a 13.94 ERA back to Triple-A.

Mike Kickham will make his next start on Monday in Cincinnati.

Kickham struggled again in his second start for the Giants Tuesday, but they'll give the young left-hander another shot. It's expected to be his last start before Chad Gaudin returns from the DL. Kickham should be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Mike Kickham struggled in another spot start Tuesday, giving up six runs -- five earned -- in 5 1/3 innings against the Dodgers.

Kickham, who was filling in for Chad Gaudin tonight, has a 10.57 ERA in his two outings for the Giants, both of which have resulted in losses. He'll probably be sent back to Triple-A on Wednesday.
