Giants recalled LHP Mike Kickham from Triple-A Fresno.
Kickham was just sent down to Triple-A Fresno on Thursday, but with the injury to Matt Cain, the club wanted more coverage in the bullpen. The 24-year-old lefty has posted a 10.72 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 24/9 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings with the Giants. Fri, Aug 23, 2013 08:02:00 PM

Mike Kickham has been moved to the bullpen.

It's a surprise that he's not in the minors after he was knocked around again during Monday's start, but the Giants have decided to keep Kickham around as a long reliever. Chad Gaudin will rejoin the rotation on Saturday.

Mike Kickham was a bust one more time on Monday, giving up seven runs and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings Monday against the Reds.

It was pretty hard to believe the Giants gave him another chance after he posted a 10.57 ERA in his first two starts. He did manage a flawless first tonight, but managed just five outs after that, one of those on coming on a sac bunt. Barring an even more stunning decision to keep him in the rotation, he'll take an 0-3 record and a 13.94 ERA back to Triple-A.

Mike Kickham will make his next start on Monday in Cincinnati.

Kickham struggled again in his second start for the Giants Tuesday, but they'll give the young left-hander another shot. It's expected to be his last start before Chad Gaudin returns from the DL. Kickham should be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Mike Kickham struggled in another spot start Tuesday, giving up six runs -- five earned -- in 5 1/3 innings against the Dodgers.

Kickham, who was filling in for Chad Gaudin tonight, has a 10.57 ERA in his two outings for the Giants, both of which have resulted in losses. He'll probably be sent back to Triple-A on Wednesday.

He'll make a start on Tuesday against the Dodgers in placed of the injured Chad Gaudin. Kickham allowed four runs over just 2 1/3 innings in his major league debut last month and holds a 4.81 ERA and 1.49 WHIP at Triple-A. He can be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Mike Kickham is expected to make a spot start on Tuesday against the Dodgers in place of the injured Chad Gaudin (elbow).

Kickham was knocked around in his major league debut last month, but he pitched well his last time out for Triple-A Fresno and the Giants are ready to give him another shot. He should be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Giants optioned LHP Mike Kickham to Triple-A Fresno.

Mike Kickham lasted just 2 1/3 innings in his major league debut Tuesday and gave up four runs in a loss to the A's.

Kickham was already struggling with his control tonight, which is why it was such a lousy call for Bruce Bochy to have him intentionally walk Josh Donaldson to load the bases with one out in the third. A walk to Jed Lowrie followed, forcing in a run, and Nate Freiman followed with a single that knocked Kickham out of the game. The Giants probably won't make any rash decisions involving Kickham, even if Bochy can't be happy with how this one went. Kickham doesn't rate as a great play with the Cards next on the schedule, but he could have some value in NL-only leagues while Ryan Vogelsong is out.

Giants purchased the contract of LHP Mike Kickham from Triple-A Fresno.

Kickham will take Ryan Vogelsong's spot in the rotation and start Tuesday against the Athletics. The 24-year-old southpaw had a 4.33 ERA and 54/22 K/BB ratio in 54 innings over 10 starts in Triple-A this season and could be worth a short-term look in NL-only formats.
