Cubs OF prospect Eloy Jimenez blasted a game-tying three-run homer Tuesday in the West's come-from-behind win in the Midwest League All-Star Game.
He earned MVP honors by helping the West erase a seven-run deficit. Jimenez has been a force of nature during his 14-game hitting streak, batting .436 over that span with nine RBI. The 19-year-old leads the Midwest League with 24 doubles and 88 hits this season. He's also the league leader in OPS (.914) and slugging percentage (.535). Obviously Jimenez has nothing left to prove in Low-A and should expect a promotion in the near future. Jun 22 - 1:42 PM

Cubs OF prospect Eloy Jimenez tallied four hits Tuesday in a win for Low-A South Bend.

It was his first career four-hit game. The 19-year-old Dominican Republic native raised his average from .188 to .333 in the victory. Jimenez only stole three bags in 57 games last year but already has two in five games this season. There's still a long way to go in his development, which is fine because the Cubs are loaded right now and probably won't need him for a few years.
