Twins signed RHP Kyle Davies to a minor league contract.

The deal does not include an invite to major league spring training. Davies, 29, had an ugly 6.75 ERA over 13 start with the Royals last season before finishing the year with the Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate. He'll function as organizational pitching depth.

Blue Jays signed RHP Kyle Davies to a minor league contract.

The 27-year-old former prospect was released by Kansas City earlier this month after going 29-44 with an ugly 5.34 ERA over 99 starts. Davies has a 6.75 ERA over 13 starts this season. He was arrested for disorderly intoxication in the Tampa area a few weeks back. Davies won't have any fantasy impact this season.

Kyle Davies was arrested for disorderly intoxication in the Tampa area this week, one day before his release.

The Royals cut ties with Davies on Wednesday, mostly because of his continued failures in the big leagues. But there's little doubt now that the arrest also played a factor. The 27-year-old former prospect is seeking a spot in another organization and seems likely to find an opportunity somewhere. Of course, this won't help.

Royals released RHP Kyle Davies.

Davies was one of GM Dayton Moore's first additions back in June of 2007, but the 27-year-old right-hander went 29-44 with an ugly 5.34 ERA over 99 starts during his time with Kansas City. He was recently placed on the disabled list for the second time this season due to a right shoulder impingement. The Royals will be responsible for the remainder of his $3.2 million salary for this season.

The Royals have requested release waivers for right-hander Kyle Davies.

He will be cleared to make room for catcher Salvador Perez on the 40-man roster. And really, it's about time. Davies has a 6.75 ERA over 13 starts and was recently placed on the disabled list for the second time this season with a right shoulder impingement.

Kyle Davies (shoulder) threw Monday for the second time since being placed on the disabled list.

Davies was placed on the disabled list last month with a right shoulder impingement. The 27-year-old missed 6 1/2 weeks with a similar problem earlier this season. There is no current timetable for his return, though he is hardly missed in fantasy leagues right now.

Royals placed RHP Kyle Davies on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder impingement.

Davies first began experiencing discomfort in his throwing shoulder during a start last week against the Red Sox and had to be scratched from his scheduled Sunday outing against the Indians. The 27-year-old right-hander is 1-9 this year with a 6.75 ERA and 1.79 WHIP through 13 starts.

Kyle Davies was scratched from his scheduled Sunday start due to a sore throwing shoulder.

Danny Duffy drew the nod instead, throwing five-plus innings as the Royals topped the Indians. Davies is hoping to return to the mound later this week, but the Kansas City medical staff may play it safe. "I want to pitch," Davies told reporters on Sunday afternoon. "No question about it. But the last thing I want to do is go out there in the first inning, not be able to command the ball, have my shoulder start bugging me and have to come out of the game."

Kyle Davies delivered six innings of one-run ball Monday in a no-decision against the Red Sox.

He struck out six and walked one, possibly saving his job. Davies entered the game having lost eight consecutive starts. He's still 1-9 with a 6.75 ERA and 1.79 WHIP on the year. The 27-year-old right-hander obviously doesn't come as a recommended option in fantasy leagues.

Kyle Davies lost yet again on Monday, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings of Kansas City's 5-2 setback against the White Sox.

He did manage to record a season-high nine strikeouts, but it's pretty clear the Royals are going to have to cut Davies loose sooner rather than later, as his ERA and WHIP now rest at 7.32 and 1.88, respectively, through his first 55 1/3 innings of work.

Kyle Davies was tagged for five runs over six innings in a loss to the Tigers on Friday night.

Make that seven losses in his last seven starts. Davies gave up nine hits (including a home run) while fanning four and walking three. He now has an ugly 7.74 ERA through 11 starts this season. He's still owed roughly half of his $3.2 million for this season, but the Royals may have to cut bait before long.

Royals activated RHP Kyle Davies from the 15-day disabled list.

Davies will return to start Saturday against the Rockies. The 27-year-old right-hander had a 7.46 ERA over nine starts before going on the DL with shoulder soreness in mid-May, so he obviously doesn't come as a recommended option in fantasy leagues. The Royals are set to go with a six-man rotation in the short-term, which is a joke that pretty much writes itself.

Royals manager Ned Yost said Tuesday that Kyle Davies (shoulder) will make one more minor league rehab start before returning from the disabled list.

Davies has a 4.15 ERA and 12/6 K/BB ratio over three rehab starts between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha. Rookie left-hander Danny Duffy will likely be sent back to the minors once he's ready to return.

Kyle Davies (shoulder) allowed three runs over six innings Saturday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas in what is expected to be his final rehab outing.

His results during his rehab have been a little better than teammate Bruce Chen's, but both pitchers are expected to be ready for activation from the disabled list next weekend. Davies held a 7.46 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in nine starts before landing on the disabled list. He can't be relied on in fantasy.
