Wooten was only with the Brewers as an extra arm in the bullpen for a couple of days this time around. He sports a 4.59 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 29/8 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings with the Brewers this season. He'll continue to function as organizational bullpen depth.

Rob Wooten struck out two in a perfect inning Thursday and hasn't allowed a run in 11 innings since being called up by the Brewers.

If only the Brewers had received the kind of luck with the bullpen last year that they have this year, there's a great chance they would have been a playoff team. Wooten doesn't project as a closer or anything going forward, but he's had great success with his mid-80s cutter so far.

A former 13th-round pick, Wooten has put up a 2.94 ERA and 45/12 K/BB ratio over 52 innings at Nashville this season. He'll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
