The left-hander has been in a rut lately, allowing five runs over his last two outings (1 IP). Perhaps a change of scenery in Rochester will do him some good. Regardless, he should be back when rosters expand in September.

Under normal circumstances the Twins would have to keep Boshers in the minors for at least 10 days (he was optioned to Rochester after Sunday's game), but that rule is being waived because Santiago is going on the bereavement list. Boshers tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in his only outing for the Twins this year.

Boshers has been on the disabled list since August 11 because of discomfort in his left elbow. An MRI taken two weeks ago showed no major structural damage and he should be back in the Minnesota bullpen within the next 5-7 days.

That's great news for the left-hander. He'll begin a throwing program when the inflammation in his elbow subsides, which should be in about two weeks. Boshers should return to the Twins' pen sometime in September if he can avoid setbacks.
