Buddy Boshers (elbow) is set to begin a rehab assignment Monday with Triple-A Rochester.

Boshers has been on the disabled list since August 11 because of discomfort in his left elbow. An MRI taken two weeks ago showed no major structural damage and he should be back in the Minnesota bullpen within the next 5-7 days.

That's great news for the left-hander. He'll begin a throwing program when the inflammation in his elbow subsides, which should be in about two weeks. Boshers should return to the Twins' pen sometime in September if he can avoid setbacks.

Boshers will provide a fresh arm for the battered Minnesota bullpen. The left-hander was sporting a 1.42 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 21/5 K/BB ratio in 19 innings this season at the Triple-A level. His last appearance at the major league level was in 2013 with Anaheim.
