Phil Gosselin had a go-ahead two-run single in a 5-3 win over the Mets on Friday night.
It was Gosselin's lone hit in five at-bats Friday, but he delivered at the right time with a bases-loaded single off Rafael Montero with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. He also stole a base in the frame. While Gosselin made the start at second base Friday, Jace Peterson appears to be the preferred option at the position. Phil Gosselin went 0-for-4 while seeing time in left field, at third base and at first base in Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Gosselin is known as a second baseman, but he's spent most of the spring playing third, short and the outfield as he attempts to make the Braves as a utilityman. He's hitting .216 with no extra-base hits in 37 at-bats, so that's not helping.

Phil Gosselin went 3-for-4 as the Braves defeated the Marlins on Sunday.

Gosselin has been a tremendous bright spot in the Braves lineup in his limited action, slashing .333/.357/.407 with a homer and two RBI. He's certainly worth utilizing in NL-only formats.

Gosselin blasted one of four Braves long balls on the night, his coming on a two-run shot off Jesse Chavez in the sixth inning. The rookie infielder is hitting .286 (6-for-21) thus far since his promotion.

He replaces Tyler Pastornicky on the active roster. The 25-year-old has been on a tear at Triple-A, slashing .344/.379/.487 with five homers, 31 RBI and six stolen bases in his 96 games.

Gosselin didn't see any action in the one day he was with the big club while Dan Uggla served a suspension. He returns to a .338 average and .375 on-base percentage in 86 games for Gwinnett.

Braves purchased the contract of INF Phil Gosselin from Triple-A Gwinnett.

There's been no corresponding move announced, but Dan Uggla is expected to be designated for assignment or traded. Gosselin earned the promotion by batting .338 with a .375 on-base percentage in 86 games for Gwinnett. He'll be used in a utility role for the Braves.

The 25-year-old collected a pair of singles and a walk in seven plate appearances this season with the Braves, a one week cup of coffee in August. Gosselin simply isn't talented enough offensively to be counted on in non-emergency situations. In August, he made his big league debut because misfortune befell Tyler Pastornicky's knee. In 423 career minor league games, Gosselin has posted a .668 OPS.

He's taking Tyler Pastornicky's (knee) spot on the roster. Gosselin has batted just .258/.306/.326 with three homers and six steals between Double- and Triple-A this season. He'll provide infield depth.
