Gosselin is back in Pittsburgh after spending about a month in Triple-A. He's hit just .135 with no homers and two RBI over 37 big league at-bats this season. There's a good chance Gosselin will head back to the minors after the All-Star break.

May 8 - 5:28 PM

Phil Gosselin hit a grand slam off Zach Stewart to lead the Pirates to a 6-5 win over the Orioles on Wednesday.

It was Gosselin's first spring homer, but he's batting .394 with a .970 OPS. He played left field today, while Adam Frazier was at second. It'll be interesting to see which one of those two emerges as Josh Harrison's primary backup, since Harrison would seem to be a lot more vulnerable to losing playing time than any of the outfielders.
Mar 15 - 4:11 PM

Starting at shortstop, Phil Gosselin went 3-for-3 against the Orioles on Friday.

Gosselin hasn't played shortstop in a regular-season game since 2014, but the Pirates want to see if he's up for it. He figures to make their squad as a bench player, but fantasy value will only come if Josh Harrison is traded.
Mar 3 - 5:06 PM

Pirates acquired INF Phil Gosselin from the Diamondbacks in exchange for RHP Frank Duncan.

Gosselin had been designated for assignment. A career .283/.331/.385 hitter over parts of four seasons in the big leagues, Gosselin offers defensive versatility and will compete for a bench spot in Pittsburgh.
Feb 10 - 12:46 PM

Diamondbacks designated INF Phil Gosselin for assignment.

The move clears a roster spot for infielder Daniel Descalso, who was signed to a one-year, $1.35 million free agent contract on Tuesday. Gosselin, 28, batted just .277/.324/.368 with two home runs and three stolen bases in 122 games last season for the Diamondbacks. He is not a fantasy-relevant player.
Feb 7 - 6:01 PM

Phil Gosselin hit a pinch-hit walkoff RBI single Sunday in the Diamondbacks' 3-2 defeat of the Padres.

Tuffy Gosewich cranked a two-out double off Brad Hand and Gosselin promptly drove Gosewich in as the Diamondbacks closed out the 2016 season with a sweep of San Diego. Gosselin finishes with a .277/.324/.368 batting line and 13 RBI in 122 games played.

Phil Gosselin had himself a day against the A's on Wednesday, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and five RBI.

Gosselin's biggest hit of the contest came in the fifth inning. In that frame, he stepped up with the bases loaded and cleared them with a three-run triple. He would tack on a two-run double an inning later. Between the Braves and Diamondbacks last season, the 27-year-old second baseman slashed .311/.373/.500 with three homers and 15 RBI across 106 at-bats. He should see his fair share of playing time in 2016, though Jean Segura, Nick Ahmed and Chris Owings also figure to draw at-bats in the logjam at second base.
