White Sox claimed LHP Onelki Garcia off waivers from the Dodgers.
Garcia missed basically the entire 2014 season after undergoing surgery on his pitching elbow last November. The left-hander should be healthy for the start of the 2015 campaign and will be trying to win a spot in the White Sox bullpen next spring in camp. He has a 3.06 career ERA and 9.9 career K/9 in the minors. Nov 20 - 3:40 PM

Dodgers activated LHP Onelki Garcia from the 60-day disabled list.

Garcia had arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow last November and didn't pitch at all in the majors this season. If healthy, he's likely to surface in the Dodgers' bullpen at some point in 2015.

Onelki Garcia (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Monday.

Garcia's recovery from last November's arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow hasn't gone well, as he's gone through numerous starts and stops. However, he appears to be back on track at the moment and is hoping to be with the Dodgers next month. "If God permits it, I'll be with the Dodgers in September," Garcia said.

Onelki Garcia (elbow, knee) remains on a restricted throwing program.

Garcia underwent minor elbow and knee surgeries over the offseason and has been brought along slowly in Dodgers' camp. He seems like a safe bet to begin the year in extended spring training.
Mar 10 - 6:37 PM

Onelki Garcia (elbow) will throw his first bullpen session Sunday.

Garcia has been a bit behind after undergoing a minor procedure on his left elbow this offseason. The southpaw threw just 1 1/3 innings with the Dodgers last year but had a 2.90 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 62 innings between Double-A and Triple-A.

Onelki Garcia (elbow) is currently limited to playing catch.

Garcia is running behind schedule after arthroscopic surgery on his pitching elbow back in November. He should have time to get ready by Opening Day, but the southpaw is likely to begin the year at Triple-A, anyway.

Dodgers prospect left-hander Onelki Garcia underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow on Friday.

Garcia is expected to resume throwing in 5-6 weeks, so he should be fine for spring training. The 24-year-old left-hander posted a 2.90 ERA and 67/35 K/BB ratio over 62 innings at Triple-A Alberquerque this season and should compete for a bullpen spot in 2014.

The Dodgers announced Friday that Onelki Garcia has replaced Pedro Baez on Glendale's roster in the Arizona Fall League.

Garcia, a 24-year-old Cuban southpaw, was originally slated to begin the AFL season with Glendale, but the Dodgers held him back in case he was needed as an injury replacement in the postseason. He appeared in three games for the Dodgers in September allowing a pair of runs and walking four in just 1 1/3 innings. He registered a 2.90 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 67/35 K/BB ratio over 62 innings at Triple-A Alberquerque on the year, and should have a chance to compete for a spot in the Dodgers bullpen during spring training.
