Giants signed LHP Tim Berry to a minor league contract.
Berry was designated for assignment by the Marlins in late May. Splitting time between High-A and Double-A in the Miami system, he held a 6.55 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 26/13 K/BB ratio across 34 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old southpaw will continue to work his craft in the Giants' minor league system. A major league debut probably isn't in the cards this season. Jul 6 - 11:04 PM

Marlins optioned LHP Tim Berry to Double-A Jacksonville.

Berry, who was claimed off waivers from the Orioles back in December, had an ugly 7.32 ERA and 57/34 K/BB ratio over 82 1/3 innings last season. The soon-to-be 25-year-old was moved to the bullpen at midseason and required season-ending knee surgery. He pitched better as a reliever and will try to keep that momentum going in 2016.
