Diamondbacks signed UTIL Anthony Seratelli to a minor league contract.
Seratelli batted just .183/.329/.233 in 74 plate appearances this year for the Seibu Lions of the Japanese Pacific League, but he can play all around the diamond defensively. The 32-year-old will probably be stationed at Triple-A Reno when the 2016 season begins. Nov 26 - 12:14 PM

Anthony Seratelli singled and stole two bases after taking over at shortstop in Sunday's game against the Braves.

Seratelli for shortstop! It's not realistic -- he's played just 16 games there in the minors the last three years -- but it would be nice to see him get a chance in a reserve role. He plays all over the diamond, and he finished with OPSs of .866 and .808 for the Royals' Triple-A club the last two years.

Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that Anthony Seratelli could crack the Opening Day roster as the primary backup behind shortstop Ruben Tejada.

The 31-year-old utilityman spent the 2013 season at Triple-A Omaha where he slashed .273/.395/.413 with 11 homers, 41 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 120 games. With the diminutive offensive abilities of Tejada, savvy fantasy owners in NL-only leagues should consider Seratelli in the later rounds if he indeed makes the team out of spring training.
