Cubs optioned RHP Dallas Beeler to Triple-A Iowa.
Beeler allowed four runs over five innings in a loss to the Reds on Wednesday. The right-hander might get another shot after the All-Star break given the depleted depth of starting pitching in the Cubs' farm system. Jul 10 - 9:13 AM

Dallas Beeler took his second loss in as many starts after allowing four runs in five innings to the Reds on Wednesday.

Beeler rejoined the Cubs' rotation in the wake of the Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel departures. His second start didn't go quite as well as his major league debut on June 28 in which he allowed one unearned run to the Nationals over six frames. He yielded six hits and four walks without recording a strikeout against the Reds. Following the All-Star break, Beeler will travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks.

Cubs recalled RHP Dallas Beeler from Triple-A Iowa.

Beeler will start on Wednesday in Cincinnati. The right-hander allowed just one unearned run on four hits over six innings of work in his major league debut last month and should stick around for a while if he pitches well.

Dallas Beeler will be recalled to start on Wednesday against the Reds.

With the trade of Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel, not to mention Tuesday's doubleheader, the Cubs are in need of some fresh arms. Beeler allowed just one unearned run on four hits over six innings of work in his major league debut last month and should stick around for a while if he pitches well.

Cubs optioned RHP Dallas Beeler to Triple-A Iowa.

Beeler was the 26th man for Saturday's doubleheader versus the Nationals, as he allowed just one unearned run on four hits over six innings of work in his major league debut. The nice showing could earn him another shot later this season.
Jun 29 - 8:59 AM

Dallas Beeler was outstanding in his major league debut on Saturday, allowing just one unearned run on four hits over six innings of work in a no-decision against the Nationals.

Beeler racked up six strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. While he was only up as an extra man for Saturday's doubleheader, he certainly proved enough to earn another call the next time the Cubs need a starter.

Cubs recalled RHP Dallas Beeler from Triple-A Iowa.

Beeler will be making his major league debut. Through 10 starts at Triple-A Iowa, he owns a 4.03 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43/15 K/BB ratio over 60 1/3 innings. It could be an audition for him if he pitches well, as the Cubs may be looking for rotation options if they're successful in dealing away Jason Hammel or Jeff Samardzija.
Jun 28 - 10:55 AM

Dallas Beeler is scheduled to make his major league debut in Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Beeler, a 41st-round pick in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft, is 5-3 with a 4.03 ERA in 10 starts this season at Triple-A Iowa and is not a good fantasy bet versus Washington. He'll likely be sent back down after the outing.

Cubs purchased the contract of RHP Dallas Beeler from Double-A Tennessee.

Beeler has spent at least parts of the past three seasons with the Smokies, going 11-14 with a 4.05 ERA over 45 starts. The 6-foot-5 right-hander will undoubtedly be promoted to Triple-A Iowa in 2014.
