Cubs optioned RHP Dallas Beeler to Triple-A Iowa.

Beeler was terrible again in a spot start Tuesday, yielding four runs over 1 1/3 innings. It seems unlikely that the Cubs will give him any more starts this season.

Dallas Beeler allowed four runs over 1 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Rockies.

Making a spot start, the right-hander gave up four runs before he even got out of the first inning. Beeler hasn't been long for any of his three starts, as he's only lasted beyond the second inning in one thus far this year. He owns a 9.72 ERA and will almost certainly be returned to Triple-A Iowa shortly.

Dallas Beeler will be recalled to start on Tuesday versus the Rockies.

Beeler has been knocked around for a 6.43 ERA in two spot starts this season, but the Cubs will give him another shot. He can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Cubs optioned RHP Dallas Beeler to Triple-A Iowa.

The 26-year-old right-hander struggled in his two starts with the big league club, posting a 6.43 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 6/4 K/BB ratio in seven innings. He should get another opportunity the next time the Cubs need a spot starter.

Dallas Beeler allowed five runs (three earned) in two innings, taking a no-decision as the Cubs won late versus the Reds on Wednesday.

The Reds stormed for five runs in the second inning, aided in part by a Starlin Castro fielding error. Beeler allowed six hits and two walks without registering a strikeout in a lackluster performance. He performed reasonably well as a spot starter in another doubleheader on July 7 against the Cardinals. The Cubs will likely send him back to Triple-A Iowa.

Cubs recalled RHP Dallas Beeler from Triple-A Iowa.

He'll start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds. Beeler, who allowed two runs over five innings in a spot start earlier this month, could also be in line for another start next week. However, there's a good chance the Cubs might trade for a pitcher by then.

Dallas Beeler will be called up to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds.

Beeler allowed two runs over five innings in a spot start during a doubleheader earlier this month. Despite that, he should be avoided in fantasy leagues given his 6.02 ERA at Triple-A Iowa this season.

Dallas Beeler will start the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

He'll be up as the 26th man and be sent back down after the spot start. Beeler has struck out 50 over 58 1/3 frames at Triple-A Iowa this season, but he's also posted a 6.33 ERA. Needless to say, fantasy owners can steer clear.
