Dodgers optioned RHP Yimi Garcia to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Garcia has a solid 3.55 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 58/9 K/BB ratio in 45 2/3 innings this year out of the Dodgers' bullpen. He should be back up when rosters expand in September.

Dodgers recalled RHP Yimi Garcia from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Garcia boasts a nifty 54/9 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 relief frames this season, but he's been scored upon in four out of his last five appearances with the big club. He'll be used in low-leverage situations for now.

Dodgers optioned RHP Yimi Garcia to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

He's making room for Mat Latos on the roster. Garcia was scored upon in four out of his last five appearances.

Dodgers recalled RHP Yimi Garcia from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Garcia was sent down earlier this month after going through a rough patch. He's getting another shot despite allowing four runs in his 3 1/3 innings for Oklahoma City.

Dodgers optioned RHP Yimi Garcia to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The 24-year-old, once closing games for the Dodgers, allowed runs in each of his last four appearances with the club prior to being optioned. Most recently, Garcia threw 43 pitches in Monday's win over the Phillies, likely the reason the team needed to get fresh arms in. Garcia has loads of talent, though, and his stay in Triple-A should be a short one.
Jul 8 - 7:47 PM

Yimi Garcia, making his first major league start, gave up two runs in two innings but got a no-decision as the Dodgers eventually overcame the Phillies on Monday.

Garcia allowed a two-run home run to Freddy Galvis in the second inning, accounting for the damage. It was one of four hits he allowed while walking none and striking out two. The Dodgers were hurting for rotation help, but Garcia will likely head back to the bullpen after this.
Jul 7 - 2:41 AM

Yimi Garcia will start Monday's game versus the Phillies.

Eric Surkamp had been expected to get the call, but he'll instead follow Garcia in what will be a bullpen game. Garcia hasn't started a game since 2011 in rookie ball.
Jul 6 - 5:24 PM

Yimi Garcia blew a save against the Rockies on Thursday by coughing up a three-run homer to Carlos Gonzalez in the ninth inning.

The Dodgers lost 5-4. This was Garcia's second straight blown save, an unfortunate turn of events for the 24-year-old. Kenley Jansen is due back soon, but Don Mattingly was hoping to ease him back into things, providing Garcia an extended ninth inning look if he ran with the opportunity. Seeing as though Garcia's ERA has spiked from 0.63 to 3.38 in his past two opportunities, Mattingly might be forced to accelerate Jansen's timetable.
May 15 - 2:49 AM

Yimi Garcia blew the save against the Marlins on Monday, but the Dodgers still found a way to win.

Garcia had been rock solid for the Dodgers coming into the night, so it's hard to ding him too hard for a horrific outing. Protecting a one-run lead, he issued a one-out walk to Marcell Ozuna before serving up a two-run home run to Christian Yelich. He wasn't done, giving up back-to-back singles following the homer, then walking Ichiro Suzuki before he was pulled. Following the outing, Garcia has a 1.80 ERA with a 24/6 K/BB ratio in 15 innings. Manager Don Mattingly said that Kenley Jansen, due to return from the disabled list soon, won't immediately reclaim his role as the team's closer, so Garcia could still see a handful more save opportunities. Fantasy owners shouldn't dump him yet.
May 12 - 1:22 AM

Yimi Garcia got to close Friday and struck out two in a perfect ninth against the Padres.

Garcia has looked like the Dodgers' best reliever dating back to the spring, so he was due to get a look in the ninth at some point. Of course, it's probably too late for him to rack up a bunch of saves, what with Kenley Jansen's return getting nearer. But those with an open roster spot could pick him up anyway.
Apr 25 - 1:39 AM

Yimi Garcia struck out four in two scoreless innings of relief Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Garcia might well be the Dodgers' best right-handed reliever with Kenley Jansen out; he had a 15/1 K/BB ratio this spring and he's fanned six while allowing one run and two hits in four innings during the regular season. We don't expect that it will lead to immediate save chances, but he is worth watching.
Apr 11 - 12:50 AM

Dodgers recalled RHP Yimi Garcia from Triple-A Albuquerque.

This is his first call-up to the big leagues. Garcia had a 3.10 ERA, five saves, and 69/18 K/BB ratio over 61 innings this season in Triple-A and figures pitch in middle relief this month.

Yimi Garcia was diagnosed with a bruised right kneecap.

Surgery won't be necessary, but the Dodgers will take it slow with him in the spring. Garcia was added to the 40-man roster after posting a 2.54 ERA, 19 saves and 85/14 K/BB ratio over 60 1/3 innings of relief last season in Double-A.

Yimi Garcia will have his knee examined on Sunday.

It's not clear when or how he suffered the injury or how serious it might be. Garcia, 23, was added to the 40-man roster over the winter but will almost surely begin the year in the minors.
