The Reds are considering a number of options in left field including Jake Cave, Adam Duvall, Yorman Rodriguez, Scott Schleber and Kyle Waldrop.
Minor league outfielders Juan Duran, Tyler Holt and Jesse Winker will also be at Reds camp next month. Marlon Byrd and Skip Schumaker got most of the reps at left field for Cincinnati last year but neither is with the team anymore. Duvall was acquired in the Mike Leake trade last summer and might be the team's best short-term option at left field. The 27-year-old has never hit for a high average but his power is intriguing. Between Triple-A and the majors, Duvall crushed 35 homers in 561 at-bats in 2015. Jan 28 - 10:12 AM

Adam Duvall went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

In the seventh inning, Duvall pushed the Red advantage from 2-1 to 3-1 with his solo home run off Pirates starter A.J. Burnett. The 27-year-old outfielder has seen 60 at-bats during 2015, hitting to a .233/.324/.517 triple-slash with five homers and nine RBI during his limited action. His power potential makes him an intriguing sleeper candidate for next season.

Adam Duvall cranked a solo homer in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Acquired from the Giants in the Mike Leake deal, Duvall is now batting .244 with four home runs and .915 OPS over his first 20 games with the Reds. The 27-year-old didn't get much of an opportunity with San Francisco, but he posted big power numbers in the minors and Great American Ball Park is a good fit for him. It will be interesting to see if he gets a real shot at playing time in 2016.

Adam Duvall clubbed a go-ahead two-run homer against the Cardinals to give the Reds a 4-2 victory in Friday's suspended game.

The game was tied 2-2 in the eighth inning Friday before play was suspended. The two teams picked things back up at 12:30 ET on Saturday and Duvall took Jonathan Broxton deep in the bottom of the eighth to give the Reds the lead. The 27-year-old has three hits in 15 at-bats since coming over to the Reds in the Marlon Byrd deal. All of them are home runs.

Reds recalled 1B Adam Duvall from Triple-A Louisville.

Duvall was part of the Reds' return package in the Mike Leake trade. The 26-year-old batted just .192/.234/.342 in 77 plate appearances last season for the Giants and probably won't carry any fantasy value.

Reds 1B prospect Adam Duvall homered in his first game for Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Duvall now has 27 round-trippers in 408 at-bats this year. There's no denying his immense power, but unfortunately Duvall is in the same position he was in San Francisco. With the Giants, he was blocked at first base by Brandon Belt. Now in Cincinnati, the same is true with Joey Votto. Duvall's best chance to crack the majors might be as a corner outfielder, though it's unclear if he can make that transition.

Reds acquired INF Adam Duvall and RHP Keury Mella from the Giants in exchange for RHP Mike Leake.

Duvall, 26, hit 27 homers at Triple-A last season and has 26 so far in 2015, but he's been blocked at the major league level and not gotten much of a chance. Unfortunately for him, he's now blocked again in Cincinnati by Joey Votto and Todd Frazier.

Giants 1B prospect Adam Duvall swatted three homers Saturday in a win for Triple-A Sacramento.

All three were solo shots. Saturday was Duvall's third career three-home-run game. He leads the Pacific Coast League with 20 round-trippers and is third with 175 total bases. The 26-year-old has bounced back from an awful June (.165 in 97 at-bats) by hitting .340 this month.

Giants prospect Adam Duvall blasted five hits Sunday for Triple-A Sacramento.

He hit for the first cycle in River Cats' history. Duvall is quickly outgrowing Triple-A. The 26-year-old ranks second in the Pacific League in both RBI (14) and batting average (.457). Duvall hit .192 in 28 games for the Giants in 2014 and should get another chance with the big club this year. He's listed as San Francisco's 19th-best prospect on

Giants prospect Adam Duvall has dominated the Pacific League this season, hitting .478 through his first six games.

It's more of the same for Duvall, who hit .298 with 27 HR and 90 RBI for Triple-A Fresno last season. He's ready to play in the big leagues but Brandon Belt is blocking his path at first base. Through frustrating, having Duvall see everyday at bats in Triple-A is better than having him waste away on San Francisco's bench.

Giants optioned 1B Adam Duvall to Triple-A Sacramento.

Duvall batted just .170/.220/.277 this spring. He doesn't have anything left to prove in the minors, but the Giants just don't have a spot for him.

Adam Duvall singled and launched a solo homer in Tuesday's Cactus League loss to the Athletics.

The longball came in the second innings off of left-hander Rudy Owens. Duvall, 26, didn't do much in his limited time with the Giants last season, but he's consistently displayed big power in the minors. He's hoping to earn an Opening Day bench spot.
