Dodgers signed LHP Patrick Schuster to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Schuster has really struggled in his brief chances in the majors but has pitched well in the minors, including a 1.21 ERA at Triple-A in 2016. He'll compete for a bullpen job next spring.

Phillies sent LHP Patrick Schuster outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Schuster was claimed off waivers from the A's back in August. He's now off the 40-man roster.

Phillies recalled LHP Patrick Schuster from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

A waiver claim from the A's last month, Schuster struggled in his brief time in the majors but holds a 1.21 ERA with over a strikeout per inning at Triple-A. He'll work as a lefty specialist.

Phillies claimed LHP Patrick Schuster off waivers from the Athletics; optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Schuster, 25, has struggled in his brief time in the majors but boasts a 1.16 ERA with a strikeout per frames in his time at Triple-A. He's not a bad depth addition.

Athletics designated LHP Patrick Schuster for assignment.

Schuster was called up on August 6, but it was a brief cup of coffee. In 6 2/3 innings this season, he has allowed eight runs. The 25-year-old southpaw does not hold tangible fantasy value, even if he is able to latch on with another club.

Athletics recalled LHP Patrick Schuster from Triple-A Nashville.

The southpaw will provide depth in middle relief for a depleted Athletics bullpen.

Zach Neal will take his place on the active roster. Schuster threw 53 pitches on Wednesday against the Astros and was knocked around for four runs on five hits and two walks over two innings. He should be back later this summer.

Royals returned LHP Patrick Schuster to the Diamondbacks.

The Rule 5 pick was with the Padres for much of camp and with the Royals briefly, but he was unable to stick on either roster. He'll return to being minor league depth with the D'Backs.

Royals claimed LHP Patrick Schuster off waivers from the Padres.

The Astros selected Schuster from the Diamondbacks in December's Rule 5 Draft and then flipped him to the Padres in the Anthony Bass deal. The 23-year-old was placed on waivers on Monday after he didn't make the team, so now he's on the move again. It looks like he has a chance to beat out Francisley Bueno for a left-handed specialist role.

Padres placed LHP Patrick Schuster on waivers.

Schuster posted a 2.25 ERA over eight Cactus League appearances, but it wasn't enough to convince the Padres to carry the Rule 5 pick on their roster. The southpaw will go back to the Diamondbacks if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Astros selected LHP Patrick Schuster from the Diamondbacks with the No. 1 pick in the 2013 Rule 5 Draft; traded him to the Padres to complete the Anthony Bass deal.

The Padres will get a 23-year-old that they hope can be a LOOGY in 2014. Schuster, Arizona's 13th-round pick in 2009, likely still holds the affection of A.J. Hinch and Josh Byrnes, who lead San Diego's front office. Schuster is a low-angle southpaw -- which helps him torment left-handed hitters -- who once threw four straight no-hitters in high school. He had a 1.83 ERA and 45/18 K/BB ratio over 44 1/3 innings this year with High-A Vasalia.
