Adalberto Mejia tossed 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball Monday in a no-decision against the Yankees.

Mejia was sharp in the eventual 4-2 victory for Minnesota, holding the Yankees to five hits while striking out four batters and issuing zero walks. The one run against him came on an Austin Romine RBI double in the top of the fifth. Mejia, 24, now holds a 4.22 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 58/32 K/BB ratio in 70 1/3 innings this season.
Jul 17 - 11:31 PM

Adalberto Mejia surrendered four runs in 6 2/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Orioles on Saturday.

He gave up five hits, including a two-run homer by Jonathan Schoop and an RBI double by Manny Machado. Mejia struck out six batters and issued three free passes. He falls to 4-4 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.48 WHIP after 13 starts.
Jul 8 - 5:30 PM

Adalberto Mejia pitched seven innings of three-run ball to defeat the Angels on Monday.

Mejia walked just one for the second straight outing tonight; he had totaled 27 walks in 44 2/3 innings previously this year. That's a very positive change, but he's still probably going to be too homer-prone to be of use in shallower formats.
Jul 4 - 1:49 AM

Adalberto Mejia blanked the Red Sox for 5 2/3 innings Wednesday for his third victory.

Mejia has pitched 10 2/3 scoreless innings in his last two starts, though that's come with a 1.22 WHIP and just seven strikeouts. The Red Sox ended up 0-for-10 with RISP tonight off him and the Twins bullpen. Mejia doesn't look too bad when he's keeping the ball in the yard, but he's still a risky play in AL-only leagues right now.
Jun 28 - 10:57 PM

Adalberto Mejia wiggled his way through five scoreless innings in a 5-0 victory over the Indians on Friday.

Mejia was far from efficient, walking five batters along the way, but the Indians managed just two hits against him. He fanned four to give him his first victory since way back on May 21. The 24-year-old owns a 4.93 ERA through 10 starts with the big club this season. He hasn’t completed six innings in any of his last four outings.
Jun 23 - 10:58 PM

Adalberto Mejia allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss Saturday against the Indians in Game 2 of a doubleheader.

Mejia threw just 54 of his 85 pitches for strikes, dropping back-to-back starts. Since posting a quality start June 1 at L.A. Angels he has posted an 0-2 record and 8.78 ERA over the past three outings.
Jun 18 - 3:24 AM

Adalberto Mejia was pounded for nine runs -- eight earned -- in 3 2/3 innings by the Mariners on Monday.

The bizarre thing is that Mejia never gave up a homer; he had allowed seven in 32 1/3 innings coming into this one. He surrendered nine hits tonight, but only one, a Ryan Haniger double, went for extra bases. Mejia is now 1-2 with a 5.75 ERA. He isn't particularly secure in his rotation spot.
Jun 12 - 11:50 PM

Adalberto Mejia allowed three runs and two hits over five innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

Unfortunately, both hits were homers. Mejia also walked three batters. This isn't the right era for a big flyball pitcher like Mejia; he would have stood a better chance had he debuted a few years ago when homers were still down. With balls flying like they are right now, he seems like a fringe guy.
Jun 8 - 1:44 AM

Adalberto Mejia allowed one run on five hits over six-plus innings while taking a no-decision in Thursday's win over the Angels.

Mejia struck out five and walked two on the evening. He kept the Angels off the scoreboard until the sixth inning, when Kole Calhoun struck for a solo home run to knot the score at 1-1. The 23-year-old southpaw will look for another strong performance when he takes on the Mariners in Seattle during his next scheduled start. He will carry a 3.95 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 24/14 K/BB ratio (27 2/3 innings) into that one.
Jun 2 - 1:30 AM

Adalberto Mejia gave up two runs in five innings and settled for a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

He pitched well in his fourth major-league start. Both runs were driven in by Rays' catcher Derek Norris. The first one came on a second-inning single, the second one on a fourth-inning sacrifice fly. The 23-year-old Mejia surrendered six base hits and two walks while notching six strikeouts. He has a 4.64 ERA with 19 strikeouts and 12 walks in 21 1/3 innings.
May 27 - 6:22 PM

Twins recalled LHP Adalberto Mejia from Triple-A Rochester.

Mejia will start for the Twins against the Rays on Saturday afternoon. He did well in a spot start on Sunday, limiting the Royals to three runs on five hits over seven innings in a victory.
May 27 - 10:45 AM

Adalberto Mejia earned his first victory of the season on Sunday, limiting the Royals to three runs on five hits over seven strong innings.

Mejia walked two and struck out three on the afternoon. All of the damage against him came from Salvador Perez who crushed a pair of home runs. He now owns a 4.96 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 13/10 K/BB ratio in 16 1/3 innings on the season. He'll head back down to Triple-A Rochester where he'll wait until the Twins need an extra starter again.
May 21 - 8:48 PM

Saturday's game between the Royals and Twins in Minnesota was postponed due to rain.

They'll play a straight doubleheader on Sunday. Look for Saturday's scheduled starters, Ian Kennedy and Adalberto Mejia, to pitch on Sunday.
May 20 - 1:06 PM

Adalberto Mejia is expected to start for the Twins on Saturday against the Royals.

Mejia has surrendered seven runs -- six earned -- over three starts this season at the major league level, with 11 hits allowed and eight walks issued over just 9 1/3 innings. He is not a recommended fantasy option.
