Marlins transferred 1B Justin Bour from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
It's a procedural move that won't affect Bour one way or the other. He's been out with a sprained ankle since early July and there's still no timetable for his return. Chris Johnson and Xavier Scruggs will continue to man first in his absence. Aug 23 - 3:34 PM

Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill said during an appearance on 940 WINZ on Tuesday that there's "no timeline" for Justin Bour (ankle) to return.

Bour was originally expected to return from the disabled list 10 days ago, but progress from his high right ankle sprain has been slow. At this point, a return in September is more realistic. Derek Dietrich and Chris Johnson will continue to share playing time at first base.

Justin Bour (ankle) is not expected to return before September.

Bour's recovery from a high right ankle sprain has come along more slowly than expected, as he hasn't played in a rehab game in over a week. Derek Dietrich will continue to see the bulk of the playing time at first base.
Aug 12 - 4:33 PM

Justin Bour (ankle) isn't sure if he'll be able to rejoin the Marlins during the team's current homestand.

Bour was originally expected to be activated from the disabled list last Friday, but he's not quite ready yet. "It's very frustrating not to be playing and helping the team win," Bour said. "High-ankle sprains normally take six to eight weeks. I'm a little over four. I'm still technically ahead of schedule, so I'm trying to look at the positive of it." The slugging first baseman has been sidelined since the beginning of July with a right ankle sprain.

Justin Bour (ankle) was not activated from the disabled list Friday.

He had been set to return from his ankle injury Friday but evidently isn't ready just yet. The Marlins should have more on Bour's status before long.

Justin Bour (ankle) is due to be activated from the disabled list Friday.

Aug 2 - 6:32 PM

Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Friday that Justin Bour is still dealing with soreness in his right ankle.

Bour has been sidelined since July 2 with a right ankle sprain and it appears that he will not be ready to return from the disabled list when he's first eligible. Chris Johnson will continue to fill in at first base for now.
Jul 15 - 9:23 PM

Marlins placed 1B Justin Bour on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 3, with a right ankle sprain.

Bour suffered the ankle sprain on Saturday night and probably wasn't going to be ready before the All-Star break. This move gives him some extended rest while only costing him a handful of games. The 28-year-old has produced an excellent .873 OPS with 15 home runs and 46 RBI in 213 at-bats this season for the Marlins. Chris Johnson has filled in at first base the last three games.
Jul 6 - 10:58 AM

Justin Bour (ankle) is once again absent from the Marlins starting lineup on Tuesday.

He's heading back to Miami to undergo an MRI on his injured ankle to determine the full extent of the injury. Expect an update on his status on Wednesday. Chris Johnson continues to fill in for him at first base.
Jul 5 - 5:29 PM

Justin Bour (ankle) is not in the Marlins starting lineup on Sunday.

Bour was forced to leave Saturday's game after spraining his right ankle, and he'll sit out an extra day as a precautionary measure. Chris Johnson will start in his place on Sunday night and bat seventh against Matt Wisler and the Braves.
Jul 3 - 5:28 PM

Justin Bour left Saturday's game against the Braves with a sprained right ankle.

Bour tweaked his ankle on a close play at first base. He was hitless in two plate appearances (one walk and a strikeout) before exiting in the sixth inning. Chris Johnson took over at first base for Bour. Until we know more, consider him day-to-day.
Jul 2 - 6:43 PM

Justin Bour hit a three-run home run, his 15th of the season, in Thursday's loss to the Braves.

Bour's three-run poke in the second inning was his only hit in three at-bats in the game. The homer was also his sixth in June, giving him 20 RBI and 14 runs scored with a .317 average in the month. Often overlooked, the 28-year-old is now hitting .269/.347/.534 with 15 home runs, 46 RBI and 30 runs scored overall.
Jul 1 - 1:10 AM

Justin Bour is not in Wednesday's lineup versus the Tigers.

Jun 29 - 10:09 AM

Justin Bour homered in his third straight game, racking up three RBI, as the Marlins outlasted the Cubs 9-6 on Saturday.

Bour is as hot as the day is long, as he's now got four homers in his last six games and is hitting .339 with five homers, 17 RBI and 11 runs scored in the month of June. His home run Saturday was a two-run job, and he also added an RBI double. Bour has 10 home runs, 43 RBI and 27 runs scored with a .273/.342/.535 line on the year.
