Justin Bour requested $3.4 million and was offered $3 million by the Marlins when arbitration figures were exchanged on Friday.
The first baseman is eligible for arbitration for the first time. Bour registered a fine .289 batting average with 25 home runs and 83 RBI in just 429 plate appearances last year. Bour could be on the move as the Marlins execute a fire sale this winter. Jan 12 - 7:22 PM

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that teams continue to check in with the Marlins on the availability of Justin Bour.

Rosenthal says that Miami told clubs at the Winter Meetings that Bour wasn't available, but that hasn't stopped them from continuing to ask about the first baseman. Bour is arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter following a season when he batted .289/.366/.536 with 25 home runs over 108 games.

Justin Bour finished 3-for-6 with a two-run home run and four RBI in Saturday's 12-6 victory in Arizona.

Bour has been on fire since returning from a strained right oblique injury earlier in the month. He has hit safely in each of his past eight outings, including two or more hits in five of the past seven games. He is also working on a four-game streak with a home run and five straight with at least one RBI.

Justin Bour went 1-for-4 and drove in a run during a loss to the Brewers on Friday.

He singled home J.T. Realmuto in the second inning and came around to score on a single by pitcher Jose Urena. Unfortunately that was all the offense his team could muster in the blowout loss. Bour recently returned from a long disabled list stint with an oblique injury and is batting .287/.367/.533 with 21 home runs and 65 RBI in 93 games this year.

Justin Bour is not in the Marlins' starting lineup on Saturday.

Bour returned from the disabled list on Friday, but had played three straight games when factoring in his rehab assignment, so Saturday was a planned day off for him. Look for him to return for Sunday's series finale.

Marlins activated 1B Justin Bour from the 10-day disabled list.

Bour has been sidelined since late July with a strained right oblique. He went 4-for-14 with a home run over five rehab games with Double-A Jacksonville. The Marlins are pretty much out of the Wild Card hunt now, so they might ease Bour back into things. Still, he's worth scooping up in leagues where he might have been dropped.

Justin Bour (oblique) could return to the Marlins' active roster on Friday.

Bour has been playing rehab games for Double-A Jacksonville as they move through the Southern League playoffs and he went 1-for-3 with a walk on Wednesday. He'll also be in Jacksonville's lineup Thursday before potentially rejoining the major league club on Friday night. The big first baseman has been on the disabled list since late July because of a severe right oblique strain.

Justin Bour (oblique) went 1-for-2 with a solo homer Sunday in his second rehab game with Double-A Jacksonville.

Jacksonville wraps up their regular season on Monday, though Bour could play in some postseason games. It's unclear when he'll return to the Marlins, but they could obviously use him if he's feeling good. Bour has been out since late July with a severe right oblique strain.

Justin Bour (oblique) went hitless in three at-bats in his first rehab game with Double-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Bour has some rust to knock off since he's missed six weeks with a strained oblique, so he could remain with Jacksonville next week while they play in the playoffs. He's obviously not too far off from a return, though, and is worth stashing now in leagues where he was dropped.

Justin Bour (oblique) took some swinging in a batting cage on Monday.

It's the first time he's faced live pitching since straining his right oblique back in late July. The minor league regular season is coming to an end in a week, but the Marlins' Double-A affiliate in Jacksonville is headed to the playoffs and Bour could play a few rehab games with them. The possibility of him being rusty is certainly there, but Bour is worth stashing now in leagues where he was dropped.

Justin Bour (oblique) played catch and took dry swings on Tuesday.

It was the first taste of baseball-related activity for Bour since he landed on the disabled list July 25 with a severe right oblique strain. "We’re a little ways away from him getting going and ramping things up," Marlins manager Don Mattingly told reporters after the light workout. "There’s still a little time. He’s optimistic." The big first baseman had a tremendous first half, but he is a poor bet for meaningful fantasy contributions down the stretch.

Justin Bour (oblique) is set to resume baseball activities this week.

Bour has been on the shelf since July 25 due to his oblique strain. The 29-year-old slugger was having a terrific season, slashing .289/.366/.548 with 21 homers and 63 RBI in his first 87 games. He's still likely a couple of weeks away from rejoining the Marlins.

Justin Bour (oblique) is still three weeks away from resuming baseball activities.

The Marlins ruled Edinson Volquez (knee) and J.T. Riddle (shoulder) out for the season on Tuesday and now Bour could be facing a similar fate. There's no reason for Bour to rush back this year with Miami well out of playoff contention, especially if he won't be back until September. Tyler Moore will continue to fill in at first base.

Marlins placed 1B Justin Bour on the 10-day disabled list with a right oblique strain.

Bour suffered the injury in Monday night's series opener against the Rangers and will probably miss the next 3-4 weeks. The 29-year-old first baseman leaves behind a stellar .289/.366/.548 batting line with 21 home runs and 63 RBI in 87 games. Tomas Telis has been recalled from the minors in a corresponding roster move.

Justin Bour (oblique) will be placed on the 10-day disabled list.

Bour suffered a strained right oblique on Monday. It's unclear at this point how long he'll be sidelined, but oblique injuries typically don't result in minimum stays on the disabled list. Tyler Moore will be in line for more starts at first base.
