Justin Bour had another big night at the plate Friday, finishing 2-for-3 with a three-run homer against the Angels.
Bour extended the Marlins’ lead when he took lefty Jose Alvarez deep in the sixth inning. It’s worth noting that Angels manager Mike Scioscia elected to intentionally walk Marcell Ozuna to pitch to Bour in that situation. Ouch. The 28-year-old now has nine home runs over his last 14 games, including four homers off southpaws. He’s regularly been benched against lefties in the past, so he has the potential to be a lot more interesting in fantasy leagues if he has figured something out here. May 27 - 12:06 AM

Justin Bour finished 4-for-5 with a double, solo home run, four runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's win in Oakland.

Bour has hit safely in a season-high six consecutive games, raising his average to his highest mark of the season at .280. He has also driven in at least one run in five straight outings to make him a must-start in deeper mixed leagues while also serving as a mid-tier value in DFS play.

Justin Bour went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Bour hit a leadoff home run against Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning to draw the Marlins to within 6-3. While that kept matters at least vaguely interesting, Bour's squad was unable to creep any closer, as that score held as the final. The 27-year-old first baseman is as locked in as any hitter in the game right now, having swatted six home runs in his last 10 games. He has cracked 11 homers and driven in 28 runs for the season as a whole.

Justin Bour went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.

Bour clobbered a solo home run off Hyun-Jin Ryu with two outs in the second inning. The dinger was his ninth of the season. He has been on a power tear of late, crushing five home runs in his last eight games while working to a .265/.359/.508 triple-slash for the season as a whole.

Justin Bour is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Astros.

Bour has been on a tear at the plate recently, but he'll take a seat against lefty Dallas Keuchel. Tyler Moore will make the start at first base. Mike Aviles will start in place of Derek Dietrch at third.

Justin Bour went 3-for-4 with a solo homer Monday in the Marlins' loss to the Astros.

Bour doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and went deep off Astros reliever Luke Gregerson in the bottom of the eighth. The first baseman has four home runs over his last five games and his OPS is up to .835.
May 15 - 10:13 PM

Justin Bour homered in his third straight game Saturday against the Braves.

For the second day in a row, the dinger was a solo shot. Bour now has seven homers on the year after entering Wednesday's game against the Cardinals with four. He's still hitting just .248/.346/.462 through 35 games, but his power stroke seems to be on point right now.
May 13 - 10:35 PM

Justin Bour went 3-for-4 with a towering solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Braves.

After going without a home run for his first nine games this month, Bour has now gone deep in back-to-back games. The 28-year-old is batting .243/.333/.435 overall.
May 12 - 10:46 PM

Justin Bour drilled a three-run bomb in a loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.

His blast off starter Lance Lynn helped his club to a 4-0 lead in the first inning but it wouldn't last. Bour also walked twice in the ballgame. He has a .225 batting average with five home runs and 21 RBI in 128 plate appearances.
May 11 - 12:05 AM

Justin Bour is not in the Marlins' lineup Sunday.

J.T. Realmuto and Martin Prado are also getting a breather. The Marlins have Derek Dietrich at first base, A.J. Ellis catching and Miguel Rojas at third.

Justin Bour went 4-for-5 with a homer and six RBI in the Marlins' 10-3 drubbing of the Pirates on Sunday.

Bour was hitting just .184 coming into this one, and the Marlins had dropped him down to the seventh spot in the lineup a couple of times. He's more intriguing as a CI option in mixed leagues when he's hitting fifth, as he was at the start of the year. Today, he was sixth.
Apr 30 - 5:59 PM

Justin Bour went 0-for-4 on Thursday, snapping his six-game hitting streak.

For some reason, Don Mattingly dropped Bour in the order just as soon as he was starting to swing the bat better; he was hitting .267/.313/.567 with three homers over his previous nine games. He's hitting seventh now, and there just isn't much reason for right-handers to pitch to him with Adeiny Hechavarria and the pitcher's spot coming up behind him.
Apr 27 - 4:46 PM

Justin Bour went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Bour's three-run blast off Craig Stammen in the sixth inning snapped a 3-3 tie and put the Marlins on their to the ultimate 7-3 victory. The home run was his third of the season. He is now working on a five-game hitting streak, but even with those recent hits, his .194/.282/.371 triple-slash is far from ideal.
Apr 23 - 9:01 PM

Justin Bour went 2-for-4 and homered off the Mariners' Yovani Gallardo on Tuesday.

Bour had been down to .133 before getting to face Gallardo tonight. The Marlins will be patient here, though they do have a decent left-handed alternative in first base in Derek Dietrich.
Apr 19 - 1:04 AM

Justin Bour got the start against a left-hander Monday and went 0-for-3, dropping his average to .133.

The Marlins want Bour to be a full-time player this year, but he isn't hitting anyone right now and it'd probably be best if he resumed sitting against lefties. Unfortunately, they just dropped their primary alternative at first base, Tyler Moore, to make room for Martin Prado on the roster. They could give J.T. Realmuto starts at first against lefties, with A.J. Ellis catching.
