Justin Bour went 2-for-4 with an RBI single Friday against the Phillies.
Bour came into Friday's action just 3-for-18 (.167) with six strikeouts against left-handed pitching this season. However, with Jeff Baker (intercostal) sidelined, it looks like he's going to get every opportunity to be the regular first baseman. Jul 17 - 9:38 PM

Justin Bour went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Sunday's win over the Reds.

Bour doubled in a pair in the fifth and plated another run in the seventh with a single. The 27-year-old continues to play at first base regularly over Mike Morse and continues to hit, as he's now up to four homers and 14 RBI over his last 12 games.
Jul 12 - 4:07 PM

Justin Bour homered for the fourth straight game Friday, with his solo shot proving to be the winning run in a victory over the Cubs.

Making a bid for National League Player of the Week honors, Bour put a Jason Hammel offering into the basket in right field in the sixth inning. He also singled and drew a walk, reaching base in three of four plate appearances. Michael Morse (back) is due back soon, but he might have a better shot to play in the outfield with the way Bour is going.
Jul 3 - 5:18 PM

Justin Bour went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Thursday's win over the Giants.

Bour's three-run homer off of Matt Cain in the fifth inning jumped the Marlins from a 3-2 deficit to a 5-3 lead. They would go on to win 5-4. The home run was his ninth of the season and he pushed his season RBI total to an even 20. Bour's been on a tear recently, having homered in three straight games and driven in seven over that same time span. He's hitting a healthy .263/.340/.496 this season, though the return of Michael Morse figures to at least somewhat chip into his at-bats.
Jul 2 - 3:03 PM

Justin Bour hit a three-run homer off Santiago Casilla in the bottom of the ninth to give the Marlins a 6-5 win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Comebacks don't come much quicker than the Marlins' did tonight, as the two hitters immediately preceding Bour delivered singles. Bour walked it off from there, giving the Marlins three runs on 11 pitches from Casilla. It's Bour's eighth homer of the year. He's expected to lose playing time pretty soon with Michael Morse coming back, but the Marlins need as much power as they can get, even if it means giving Morse some time in left.
Jul 1 - 10:19 PM

Justin Bour hit his seventh home run of the season in Tuesday's win over the Giants.

The solo homer was his only hit in four at-bats on the night. He's now got seven homers in 50 games with the Marlins. The 27-year-old is hitting .254/.331/.454 overall.
Jun 30 - 10:50 PM

Justin Bour is not in the Marlins' lineup Tuesday.

Jeff Baker will start at first base and bat cleanup with the Blue Jays throwing left-hander Mark Buehrle.
Jun 9 - 5:03 PM

Justin Bour is not in the Marlins starting lineup against the Rockies on Saturday.

Nothing more than a routine day of rest for the hard-hitting first baseman. Jeff Baker will get the start in his place and hit cleanup against Chris Rusin and the Rockies.
Jun 6 - 1:23 PM

Justin Bour hit his fifth home run of the season in a losing effort against the Mets on Sunday.

Bour, who finished 2-for-4 on the afternoon, slugged a game-tying solo home run in the sixth inning against Bartolo Colon. He's getting regular at-bats now that Michael Morse is on the disabled list and has done nothing but hit, carrying a .369/.414/.646 triple-slash line with five home runs and 10 RBI in 70 plate appearances. Bour won't maintain this level of production over a larger sample size, but he's worth riding in deeper formats for now.
May 31 - 4:04 PM

Justin Bour clubbed a three-run homer in Friday's win over the Mets.

His fourth-inning blast off Matt Harvey was his only hit in four at-bats Friday, but it was the biggest play of the game. Bour is now hitting .361 (22-for-61) with five home runs and nine RBI over 28 games this season. With Michael Morse (finger) on the DL, he should be owned in all NL-only fantasy leagues.
May 29 - 9:40 PM

Justin Bour went 2-for-5 with a solo homer Friday against the Orioles.

It was his second home run of the season. Bour was getting another start at first base in place of Michael Morse, who collected a pinch-hit RBI double on Friday. The 26-year-old could take away more at-bats if Morse continues to struggle.
May 23 - 12:32 AM

Justin Bour went 1-for-2, ending Shelby Miller's bid for a no-hitter with a two-out, ninth-inning single in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Braves.

With the way the Marlins were swinging, it didn't look like anything could stop Miller from achieving a no-hitter. But Bour was able to cleanly knock a single up the middle to curb Miller's effort at 8 2/3 innings. Bour has only had 28 plate appearances this season, but is batting .440/.500/.600 with a home run and three RBI.
May 17 - 3:38 PM

Marlins recalled 1B Justin Bour from Triple-A New Orleans.

Bour was off to a .275/.403/.353 start for New Orleans, hitting one homer. He could see some time at first base if the Marlins decide to use Mike Morse on occasion in left field with Christian Yelich (back) out.
Apr 24 - 2:57 PM

Marlins optioned 1B Justin Bour to Triple-A New Orleans.

Bour, 26, batted .284/.361/.365 across 83 plate appearances in his first taste of the majors last season. He figures to get another shot at some point this year.
Mar 18 - 9:23 AM

Justin Bour hit his first major league home run Friday against the Nationals.

It was a long solo blast to the second deck in right-center field which traveled an estimated 450 feet. Bour also drove in a run with a ground out in the second inning, so he was the extent of the Marlins' offense on Friday night. The 26-year-old is batting .271/.364/.375 over his first 31 games in the majors and is worth rolling with in NL-only leagues right now.
