Justin Bour hit his first major league home run Friday against the Nationals.
It was a long solo blast to the second deck in right-center field which traveled an estimated 450 feet. Bour also drove in a run with a ground out in the second inning, so he was the extent of the Marlins' offense on Friday night. The 26-year-old is batting .271/.364/.375 over his first 31 games in the majors and is worth rolling with in NL-only leagues right now. Fri, Sep 19, 2014 11:13:00 PM

Justin Bour got the nod over Garrett Jones on Monday and went 2-for-3 with a walk in the Marlins' 6-5 win over the Mets.

Bour is 6-for-15 with a couple of walks since being called up on Sept. 2. The Marlins should consider making him their first baseman against right-handers the rest of the way, though since Jones is signed for another year, they probably won't. They could play both, using Jones in right field, but that would hurt the outfield defense.

First baseman Justin Bour is making his first start since being recalled Sept. 2 in Friday's game against the Braves.

Bour could prove to be an upgrade over the slumping Garrett Jones if he gets a shot, though we're not optimistic that will happen. The 26-year-old hit .306/.372/.517 with 18 homers for Triple-A New Orleans this year. Jones, who is taking a seat tonight, is batting just .206/.281/.325 in 126 at-bats since the All-Star break.

Bour appeared in 21 games with the Marlins earlier this season and hit .306 with 18 homers and an .889 OPS over 103 games in Triple-A. The 27-year-old will function as a left-handed bat off the bench.

Marlins optioned 1B Justin Bour to Triple-A New Orleans.

The 26-year-old struggled during his time with the Marlins, slashing .222/.323/.259 with four RBI in his limited time. He'll be better suited playing every day in the minor leagues.

Marlins recalled 1B Justin Bour from Triple-A New Orleans.

Bour had five hits in 13 at-bats during a short stay with the Marlins earlier this month. The 26-year-old has been killing the ball at the Triple-A level and might be worth a flier in NL-only fantasy leagues.

Marlins optioned 1B Justin Bour to Triple-A New Orleans.

Bour got sent back to the minors to open a roster spot for Rafael Furcal, who will finally make his Marlins debut this Friday. Bour had a good showing in his short stay with the big-league club and has been hitting well at Triple-A. He'll get another shot soon.

Justin Bour went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

In just his second big league start, Bour showed the hitting ability that led to his promotion last week. Bour also scored his first two runs of the season, as he's now 5-for-11 in three games. With first base occupied by Garrett Jones, Bour may have trouble getting into too many more games after the interleague portion of the schedule is completed.

Marlins purchased the contract of 1B Justin Bour from Triple-A New Orleans.

Bour is taking Derek Dietrich's spot on the roster. The 26-year-old was batting .330/.407/.562 with nine homers and 36 RBI at New Orleans and will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
