Chris Seddon turned in a quality start in Friday’s loss to the Red Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over his six innings.

Seddon fanned three while walking two in the game. Cody Ross’ two-run homer in the sixth inning was the critical blow in the game, breaking a 1-1 tie. Even with the decent start, Seddon remains an uninspiring option in most fantasy formats. He’ll take an 0-1 record and 5.06 ERA into Anaheim where he’ll square off against the Angels on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old journeyman has put up a 3.44 ERA and 108/27 K/BB ratio in 123 innings over 20 starts with Columbus this season. He'll get the ball Sunday against the Tigers before likely being sent right back down. Seddon can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Seddon has a 3.44 ERA and 108/27 K/BB ratio in 123 innings over 20 starts with Triple-A Columbus this season. The 28-year-old lefty has a 7.03 ERA over 39 2/3 innings in the big leagues and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2010 as a member of the Mariners. He can't be trusted in fantasy leagues.

Indians signed LHP Chris Seddon to a minor league contract.

The deal comes with an invitation to spring training, but Seddon doesn't stand much of a chance of cracking the Indians' Opening Day roster. He posted a 6.27 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 149 1/3 innings last year at Triple-A.

The Mariners are expected to call up left-hander Chris Seddon before Thursday's game against the Angels.

Seddon was selected as a member of the PCL All-Star team, however he was unavailable for the game because he was getting called up to the bigs. The 26-year-old left-hander is 10-4 with a 3.39 ERA in 18 games (15 starts) with Triple-A Tacoma this season. He is expected to contribute in middle relief. Sean White will likely be sent to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding roster move.

In his first major league start, Chris Seddon surrendered seven runs over three-plus innings Tuesday against the Nationals.

What more should be expected from a guy who had a 4.64 ERA in Double-A? Seddon is a future middle reliever at best. He's a long shot to have a substantial career.
