Moore was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Astros earlier this month but refused that assignment. He will now try to latch on with a new organization.

Moore batted just .259 with a .330 on-base percentage in 228 plate appearances this past season for Houston. The 29-year-old infielder drew no interest on waivers.

Scott Moore left Tuesday's game because of irritation of the AC joint in his left shoulder.

The Astros are listing him as day-to-day, but there's obviously a good chance this will end his season. Moore may have positioned himself for a roster spot next year by batting .259 with nine homers over 72 games.

Scott Moore went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and a run in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Phillies.

Moore blasted his eighth home run of the season in the bottom of the third inning off of Roy Halladay to drive in Jimmy Paredes and give the Astros a 2-1 lead. His recent groin injury didn't seem to have much of an effect on him.

Moore hadn't appeared in a game since last Wednesday with a left groin strain. It shouldn't be much longer before he's ready to return to the starting lineup.

Scott Moore went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's blowout win over the Cubs.

Moore had an RBI double in the top of the first inning and a solo blast in the seventh. It was his first three-hit game since September 28, 2007 as a member of the Orioles. The 28-year-old has some pop and should continue to get regular playing time at first base, but he's not worth considering outside of NL-only leagues.

Scott Moore singled and belted a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Brewers.

Moore has gotten plenty of playing time for the going-nowhere Astros and has managed to hit five homers over 25 games. He should be the regular third baseman with Chris Johnson no longer around and deserves attention in NL-only leagues.

Scott Moore singled and drove in both Astros runs with sac flies in Monday's win over the Padres.

Both sac flies scored Jose Altuve. Moore has hit .267 with three homers in 12 games for the Astros, but the 15/1 K/BB ratio in 45 at-bats isn't pretty. The Astros will eventually give Brett Wallace a crack at the first base job, pushing Moore into a bench role.

The Astros will platoon Scott Moore and Matt Downs at first base following the departure of Carlos Lee.

Both players aren't regulars at the position, but it should serve as an upgrade offensively, while allowing Chris Johnson to move to third base. Downs will be in the lineup against left-handed pitching, as he was Friday against Madison Bumgarner.

Scott Moore homered for the second consecutive game, leading the Astros to a 6-3 victory over the Brewers on Saturday.

He finished the day 1-for-4 with the solo blast off Livan Hernandez in the third inning. Moore has provided a nice jolt to the Astros offense, hitting .323 with three homers and four RBI in his first 31 at-bats. He's seized the open at-bats after Carlos Lee's departure, and should continue to play every day as long as he keeps hitting.

Scott Moore blasted a solo home run, accounting for all of the Astros offense in a loss to the Brewers on Friday.

The solo blast off Yovani Gallardo was Moore's second of the season. Moore is versatile defensively, and is likely to see time in the outfield, third base and first base with the recent departure of Carlos Lee.

Scott Moore launched his first homer as an Astro in Monday's loss to the Pirates.

Making a start at third base in place of the injured Chris Johnson, Moore took James McDonald deep with a solo shot in the sixth inning. He's picked up four hits in 11 at-bats since being called up last week.
