Giants signed OF Gregor Blanco to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Blanco announced the news himself on his Instagram account. The longtime Giant batted .246/.337/.357 over 90 games for the Diamondbacks last season. Blanco is now 34 and has put up a .656 OPS over the last two seasons, but he should have a decent shot to win a bench job in San Francisco.

Gregor Blanco went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored as the Diamondbacks crushed the Dodgers on Thursday afternoon.

Blanco did a terrific job in his role of table-setter atop the Diamondbacks' lineup in this one and also plated a run with a double in the second inning. For the season, he's hitting .246/.329/.369 with three homers, 12 RBI and 11 swipes.

Gregor Blanco homered, tripled and walked versus the Reds on Thursday.

The Diamondbacks started an outfield of Daniel Descalso, Blanco and Chris Herrmann today and still scored 12 runs; it's totally their year. Blanco has averaged one homer every 133 plate appearances and a triple every 87 plate appearances over the course of his career. Today, he needed four to accrue one of each.

Gregor Blanco went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a triple and a run scored in Thursday's loss to the Cardinals.

Blanco swatted an RBI double off Lance Lynn in the third inning. The two-bagger was his fifth of the season. He also raced notched his second triple of the campaign in the losing effort. Despite his offensive pyrotechnics on Thursday, Blanco offers little with the bat on the whole, as he is hitting just .246/.333/.369 with two homers and eight RBI in 122 at-bats. He snapped an 0-for-15 skid with his two hits against the Cardinals.

Gregor Blanco swatted a two-run homer on Friday, powering the Diamondbacks to a 5-4 victory over the Phillies.

Blanco's game-changing blast came off of Aaron Nola in the sixth inning, tying the score at 4-4. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-5. He has done an admirable job as a fill-in for A.J. Pollock atop the D'Backs' lineup, slashing .273/.373/.409 with two homers, six RBI and six stolen bases.

Gregor Blanco finished 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk, three runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's lopsided win against San Diego.

The left-handed hitting outfielder has posted two multi-hit games over his past three starts. It appears he is over the jammed thumb which forced him to the sidelines for three outings. The veteran remains useful only in NL-only fantasy play and as a salary saver in DFS.

Gregor Blanco (thumb) is in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Padres.

Blanco hasn't played since last Thursday due to a jammed thumb. The 33-year-old outfielder is batting just .254/.333/.339 in 23 games this season for the Diamondbacks, but he'll hit leadoff Tuesday against rookie right-hander Dinelson Lamet.

Gregor Blanco left Thursday's game against the Marlins with a jammed thumb.

He jammed it diving for a single by Giancarlo Stanton. Blanco stayed in for his next at-bat but was replaced by Reymond Fuentes to begin the bottom of the fourth inning. He went 0-for-2 before exiting.

Gregor Blanco went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in a win over the Brewers on Thursday.

Blanco batted leadoff and rewarded his manager's decision, leading off the game with a dong, his first this season, against Brewers starter Zach Davies. He added a pair of singles for his first three-hit game of the season. The 33-year-old isn't an offensive force by any means, but he's batted a capable .293/.341/.390 through 16 games this year for the D'backs.

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of OF Gregor Blanco from Triple-A Reno.

Blanco is over his oblique injury and ready to serve as an extra outfielder in Arizona. He batted .391/.462/.435 in six games in the minors.

Tommy Stokke of FanRag Sports reports that the Diamondbacks will add Gregor Blanco to the major league roster Friday.

David Peralta has been under the weather for a few days, so the D'Backs could use more outfield depth. Blanco has recovered from a spring training oblique strain and batted .391/.462/.435 in six games in the minors.

Gregor Blanco (oblique) played five innings in the outfield and got five at-bats in an extended spring training game on Thursday.

Blanco could play in another game Saturday and figures to be assigned to a minor league affiliate soon. The veteran outfielder should eventually be added to the Diamondbacks' roster as a backup outfielder provided that he's healthy.

Gregor Blanco (oblique) resumed a throwing program on Friday.

Blanco strained his right oblique two and a half weeks ago and his recovery has gone a little slower than expected. The veteran outfielder quickly re-signed on a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks after being released and should eventually resurface in the majors as a backup outfielder once he gets healthy.

Diamondbacks re-signed OF Gregor Blanco to a minor league contract.

The Diamondbacks were forced to release Blanco on Monday, but it didn't take the two sides long to hammer out a new agreement. The veteran outfielder has been dealing with an oblique injury in recent days, but he's expected to begin the season with Triple-A Reno. He's useful depth to have around.
