Blanco's spring average is up to .323 (10-for-31), a good sign for the Giants as he is their No. 1 option to fill in for Hunter Pence in right field. Though the Giants could swap Aoki in left field and Blanco, manager Bruce Bochy said he prefers someone with familiarity with AT&T Park's "quirky outfield".

Blanco tripled in a run in the third inning and scored shortly thereafter. The 31-year-old is a favorite to take playing time in the stead of the injured Hunter Pence. Though Blanco's playing time would only increase for less than a month, he could provide some limited fantasy value with his gap power and speed.

Giants and OF Gregor Blanco avoided arbitration by agreeing to a two-year, $7.5 million contract.

The deal buys out Blanco's final two years of arbitration eligibility. The 31-year-old has been a solid contributor for the Giants the last three seasons, batting .257/.336/.355 while stealing 56 bases and playing all three outfield spots. He's the quintessential fourth outfielder and will serve in that role following the Nori Aoki signing.

Gregor Blanco reached base three times in six plate appearances, scoring three runs and stealing a base as the Giants rolled to a victory over the Royals in Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday.

Blanco singled twice and walked as he was in the middle of many of the Giants' rallies on this Saturday night. He walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and stole third before scoring the Giants' first run in the first inning. He singled and scored in the sixth, and beat out an infield single and scored in the seventh. With the effort, Blanco raises his World Series batting average up to .267 (4-for-15).

Gregor Blanco hit a leadoff home run in Wednesday's Game 2 of the World Series, but it wasn't enough to get the Giants a win.

Blanco turned around a Yordano Ventura 98 mph fastball on the eighth pitch of the at-bat, sending it over the right field wall to give the Giants the early lead. To say it was unexpected is an understatement, as Blanco has just 15 homers in 1,948 regular season at-bats in his career. He finished 1-for-3 with a walk, and the Giants head back home tied 1-1 in the series.

Gregor Blanco had a nice night at the plate in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, going 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Blanco singled home Brandon Crawford in the seventh inning to give the Giants a 3-2 lead. That advantage would prove to be very short-lived though as the Cardinals blasted solo home runs in each of the next three innings to put the game away. Blanco has struggled in his role as a table-setter in the postseason, hitting just .125 (4-for-32) with one run scored.

Gregor Blanco finished 2-for-7 with a double, homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's easy 13-inning 5-2 versus the Dodgers.

Blanco's corked a 419-foot shot off Dan Haren to begin the game. He wouldn't drive in another run for 12 more innings, when his double ended up plating two; the play ended when Blanco was gunned down trying to go for third. Blanco has been a usable if unspectacular mixed league player since late August.

Gregor Blanco went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored in Wednesday's easy 5-0 win against the Diamondbacks.

He also had a steal, his 15th of the season. Blanco is batting .419 in September with four doubles and two triples, and he was also hitting in late August, shortly getting inserted into the starting lineup full time. The outfielder is only a fantasy contributor in the speed category.

Blanco drove home a run with an RBI double in the third inning, increasing the Giants early advantage to 5-0. He's done a nice job since being forced into a full-time role in the Giants outfield and is now slashing .263/.344/.376 on the year.

Blanco stole his 14th base of the season in the second inning, then went yard against Marco Estrada in the fifth inning. He has shown the power stroke as of late, homering in consecutive games and in three of his last six. Overall, Blanco has four home runs, 29 RBI, and a .251/.330/.349 line.

Leading off the game, Blanco took Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg deep. The homer was his second of the season. Blanco tripled to lead off the sixth, scoring on a Hunter Pence sacrifice fly. It was a good game for the defense-first outfielder, who's hitting .252/.326/.333 on the season.
