Andrew Brown pitched three scoreless innings, striking out four, for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
Brown appears to be on the comeback trail after missing all of 2009 following shoulder surgery. He was last seen with the A's in 2008, when he posted a 3.09 ERA in 35 innings out of the pen. After four appearances for Syracuse, he has a 2.45 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Mon, Apr 26, 2010 02:10:00 PM

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the A's have agreed to a minor league deal with right-hander Andrew Brown.

The A's released Brown after he had elbow surgery in late January. Now that he's ready to begin rehabbing, the A's decided to sign him and pick up the tab. He isn't expected to contribute until after the All-Star break.

A's released RHP Andrew Brown.

Brown is expected to miss most of the season following shoulder surgery. If he went under the knife during the regular season Oakland would have placed him on the 60-day disabled list, but that option isn't available during the offseason and the A's needed roster space for Russ Springer. Brown has said that he'd be interested in staying with the A's on a minor league contract.

Andrew Brown is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery Thursday.

Brown met Wednesday with Dr. James Andrews, who confirmed that he needs to go under the knife to repair a slightly torn labrum and potential rotator cuff damage. Now that Brown is out for at least half the season, the A's are expected to use his 40-man roster spot on Russ Springer.

Andrew Brown said Tuesday that he's scheduled to meet with Dr. James Andrews this week and expects to undergo shoulder surgery.

Brown had a 2.05 ERA and .169 opponent's batting average through 30 appearances last season, but gave up four runs on July 25 and didn't pitch again because of shoulder problems that apparently haven't improved. "Hopefully, it's nothing major and I'm only out until the All-Star break," Brown said. "I know there is a small labrum tear, and the rotator cuff has some damage, but it might just be irritation. The MRI is not conclusive."

Athletics transferred RHP Andrew Brown from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

It sounded like Brown was making steady progress in his recovery from a sore shoulder, but that obviously wasn't the case. He won't be eligible to return until the final week of the season, and it hardly seems likely that the A's would bring him back then.

Andrew Brown threw off a mound Monday for the first time since being shut down with shoulder soreness last month.

According to manager Bob Geren, the A's are hoping to get both Brown and Keith Foulke (shoulder) back early next month.

Athletics placed RHP Andrew Brown on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 26, with right shoulder soreness.

Brown had pitched just once in 10 days, giving up four runs in two-thirds of an inning last Friday. That suggests he's been bothered by the shoulder for some time now.

Athletics activated RHP Andrew Brown from the 15-day disabled list.

Brown missed three weeks after an appendectomy. He'll take some of the load off Alan Embree and Keith Foulke in the seventh and eighth innings.

Andrew Brown (appendicitis) threw 1 1/3 innings for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday and will be activated from the disabled list Sunday.

Brown has been out since May 20 after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.

Andrew Brown (appendectomy) pitched two scoreless innings Wednesday in his first appearance for Single-A Stockton.

Brown, who last pitched on May 13, is likely to rejoin Oakland's bullpen this weekend.

Andrew Brown (appendectomy) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday at Single-A.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Brown could return from the disabled list by the end of this week.

Andrew Brown, recovering from an emergency appendectomy, has begun playing catch.

That was quick. Brown had the surgery only five days ago and is already gearing up to return. He's still about two weeks away from rejoining the A's.

Athletics placed RHP Andrew Brown on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 14, following an emergency appendectomy.

Brown will probably need about three weeks off. He has a 2.45 ERA on the season, so this is a big loss, especially on the heels of Santiago Casilla's injury. Joey Devine will begin getting more work in close games.
Tue, May 20, 2008 09:15:00 PM

Athletics purchased the contract of RHP Andrew Brown from Triple-A Sacramento.

The 26-year-old Brown was picked up in the Milton Bradley trade. He is out of options, so the A's probably wouldn't be calling him up unless they planned on giving him an extended look. He had a 2.88 ERA and a 49/15 K/BB ratio in 40 2/3 IP for two Triple-A teams.
