After sitting out the last two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) events, Scott Riggs is excited about his return behind the wheel of the Ricky Benton Racing (RBR) Enterprises No. 92 BTS Tire and Wheel Distributors/Goodyear fleetHQ/QMI Chevrolet at Charlotte in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.
Engine woes at Daytona and Martinsville derailed good runs for Riggs in the truck. Clay Rogers filled in for Riggs at Rockingham and saw a good start to the race negated by an untimely caution. He ran a lap of 186.149 mph in the No. 44 Ford. It was 45th quickest. Since it wasn’t one of the 36 fastest and the team is not eligible for a provisional start, they did not make the cut.

A good night for Scott Riggs and the RBR Enterprises No. 92 BTS Tire and Wheel Distributors/fleetHQ Chevrolet headed south very quickly Daytona International Speedway back in February.

Engine trouble was the culprit, but Riggs and the team are very optimistic as the head to Martinsville for the Kroger 250 Camping World Truck Series event. "We had a great truck at Daytona," said Riggs, who started 18th and quickly moved his way to the front, running as high as fifth in the early going. "These things just happen sometimes in racing. I'm excited about the truck that we have for Martinsville this week." And with good reason. It is the same truck that Riggs drove to a fifth place finish at Martinsville last October.-Red Flag Communications

Scott Riggs’ qualifying speed was not good enough to make the field for the Sprint Cup Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

He ran a lap of 124.452 mph in the No. 44 Ford. It was 42nd quickest. Since it wasn’t one of the 36 fastest and the team is not eligible for a provisional start, they did not make the cut.

An engine turned sour derailed a promising run for Scott Riggs in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona.

After starting 18th, Riggs quickly put the No. 92 Chevrolet Silverado in the top 10 in the running order, despite being in the slower-moving top lane for his entire 26-lap run. "That was about to get fun," said Riggs after a blown engine knocked him out of the race on lap 26. The No. 92 finished in 35th place.-Red Flag Communication

After a fifth-place finish in their first outing together at Martinsville last October, Scott Riggs returns behind the wheel of the No. 92 BTS Tire and Wheel Distributors/fleetHQ Chevrolet for the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Crew chief Mike Hester also returns atop the pit box for the first time since 2011. Riggs has one career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Daytona, a third place finish in 2001. Riggs has 10 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at the track, with a career-best finish on the 2.5 mile oval of fourth in the 2005 Daytona 500. Scott Riggs will be behind the wheel of the Robby Benton Racing No. 92 Chevrolet Silverado for at least the first five races of the upcoming season.

RBR Enterprises is looking for additional sponsorship to expand its schedule, possibly the entire 22-race slate. Mike Hester will be returning to RBR Enterprises in 2013 to call the shots as the crew chief for the No. 92 truck. Hester served as crew chief at RBR in 2010 and 2011.-Red Flag Communications

His lap of 170.692 mph in the No. 23 Chevrolet was 40th fastest in qualifying for the Sprint Cup Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He will line up in 43rd at the green flag.

Riggs is no stranger to the half-mile paperclip in Southwest Va. In addition to his extensive NASCAR Cup Series experience at the track, the Bahama, N.C.-native collected his first of five truck series wins of the 2001 season at the track.-Red Flag Communications

The No. 23 team is outside the top 35 in owners points and not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s Cup race. His qualifying speed was 46th fastest, which was not good enough to make the cut for the event.
