Elliott Sadler (No. 1 OneMain Financial Chevrolet Camaro) won the Coors Light Pole Award for today's Lilly Diabetes 250 with a lap 165.283 mph.
This is his 17th pole in 347 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races. It is his first pole and eighth top-10 start in 2017 and first pole in six races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). Cup driver Erik Jones (second) posted his eighth top-10 NXS start of 2017 and his third in three NXS races at IMS. Elliott Sadler (No. 1 OneMain Financial Chevrolet Camaro) led the first practice session for the XFINITY Series Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The lap of 166.420 mph was the best of the 37 cars completing laps in this session. No. 7 Justin Allgaier, No. 18 Kyle Busch, No. 20 Erik Jones and No. 2 Paul Menard made up the rest of the top-five on the speed chart. The No. 74 Dodge, driven by Mike Harmon, was the slowest.

In 12 starts at Iowa Speedway, Sadler has claimed one win, seven top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. He is the only current NXS regular to finish in the top 10 in 100 percent of his races ran at Iowa. With the help of three consecutive pole positions in 2011-12 at Iowa, and win in August of 2012, Sadler has an average start of 6.3 and average finish of 5.2 at the facility.-JR Motorsports
