J.J. Yeley joins TriStar Motorsports as the driver of the No. 14 NASCAR XFINITY Series Toyota, starting at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend.

A veteran in the sport, Yeley has been competing in NASCAR since his debut in 2004, with Joe Gibbs Racing. Coming off of a solid 2015 season Yeley finished 12th in driver points, with 23 Top-20 finishes and a fourth place finish at Talladega Superspeedway.-TriStar Motorsports NC
Feb 24 - 2:57 PM

JJ Yeley started the season in the No. 23, turned his car over to teammate Jeb Burton in one race for which that driver failed to qualify, and then swapped rides late in the season because his ability to qualify was greater than the rookie. For all of his effort, he got a fulltime season under his belt, but earned only one top-25.

Yeley’s best result of 14th came at Talladega SuperSpeedway and the larger number of dark horses on a restrictor-plate, superspeedway limited his usefulness. Even though he tended to qualify better than Burton, he still managed to improve in race trim in 60 percent of his starts.

Yeley and his JGL Racing team entered Kansas Speedway equipped with their favorite car and high hopes but would ultimately be plagued by a bad vibration in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series race.

When the checkered flag flew Yeley would bring his No. 28 Toyota home to a disappointing 21st place finish in the running of the Kansas Lottery 300.
