Reed Sorenson, Mike Bliss, Travis Kvapil, Mike Wallace, and Matt DiBenedetto failed to qualify for the Kobalt 400.
NASCAR expanded the time between the end of the first practice session and beginning of qualification, so everyone got a chance to attempt to qualify. These five drivers are disappointed, but head to Phoenix next week as the Western Swing continues. Mar 6 - 8:14 PM

The last time Mike Wallace raced in the Cup series at Las Vegas was a decade ago in 2005. He finished 24th in the Morgan-McClure entry.

Wallace was one of the 13 drivers who failed to record a qualification lap last week at Atlanta and was low enough in the points that he failed to make the show. He might still be a little rusty on this track type.

Mike Wallace will make his first attempt at Atlanta since 2005 and he hopes this week goes better. In two attempts that year, he failed to qualify in the fall and was 40th with a blown engine in the spring.

His latest attempt on this track type ended in a respectable 34th at Kansas last fall, however. That is not enough to get him a roster selection, but it will make him a driver worth watching as a possible dark horse later in the season.

Mike Wallace tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for the XFINITY Series Alert Today Florida 300 at Daytona International Speedway.

The No. 26 JGL Racing Toyota Camry driver ran a fast lap of 187.009 mph. No. 2 Brian Scott, No. 84 Chad Boat, No. 51 Jeremy Clements and No. 4 Ross Chastain round out the top five of the 31 cars out on the track. The No. 18 Toyota driven by Daniel Suarez was the slowest in the final practice session.

Craig Perryman and Patrick King through their Crazy Vapors Company will serve as primary sponsor for Mike Wallace and The #66 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Team for The Daytona 500 on February 22, 2015.

Mike Wallace says, "I can’t wait to get on the track in The Crazy Vapors #66, we are bringing back the same car that we had at Talladega. The team has continued working on the car through the winter and has been able to find a little more speed. Also, we believe the engine will be a little better so I feel like we have a really good shot in Daytona."
Feb 10 - 9:21 PM

Mike Wallace will pilot the No. 26 Toyota Camry for JGL Racing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series season-opener at Daytona.

He will join JGL teammates Eric McClure (No. 24) and J.J. Yeley (No. 28) who will be running full-time in the 2015 NXS season. The No. 26 will be running on a limited schedule. No firm plans have been announced for Wallace beyond the Daytona race.
Feb 4 - 9:55 PM

Mike Wallace will make his first Cup attempt at Phoenix since he finished 27th in the spring 2005 race and failed to qualify later that fall. The No. 66 has enough owner points that he should make the show even though 44 cars are on the entry list.

When Wallace finished 27th that spring he was two laps off the pace and had to take a provisional to get into the race. The competition has increased since then, so fantasy owners should expect a result in the mid- to high-30s.

Mie Wallace was forced to take a provisional to start the Goody's 500. He will start last in 43rd.

Wallace’s last start at Martinsville came in 2005 when he was racing for Morgan-McClure. Look for him to be rusty and simply attempt to finish the race.

Mike Wallace will roll off the grid 43rd in the No. 66 Jay Robinson Toyota on Sunday to anchor the Hollywood Casino 400 field.

Wallace has been running at the end of the last two races he started for this team, and while that was only good enough for a 40th at Dover, high attrition at New Hampshire contributed to a 34th-place run. In games that offer place differential points, that was a significant bump from his 42nd-place qualification effort.

A Wyoming manufacturer - or at least its logo - will hit the fast lane later this month when it serves as primary sponsor for NASCAR racer Mike Wallace's car at Daytona.

Unker's, a "therapeutic salve" manufactured solely in Upton with a staff of five and sold through about 50 retailers in Wyoming and hundreds worldwide, will sponsor Wallace's #28 car at a Feb. 22 race starting at 1 p.m. "This is a one-time event for us (all I can afford) but WOW!," wrote Patricia Pendleton, owner of parent company Olde Tyme Remedies in an email. She said the sponsorship came as an extension of a conversation with Mike Wallace that had started three years earlier when Pendleton was the new owner of Unker's. Wallace told her he had noticed many members of his pit crew using the salve to treat cuts, scrapes and various other mechanic maladies.(Wyoming Business Journal)-jayski.com
