R3 Motorsports announced that Tia Rosa Tortillas is back on board the #23 Chevrolet in NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Said driver Robert Richardson Jr.: "Texas was the place where my racing career got started back in 2002 racing legends cars out here. I also ran super late models, Camping world trucks, and now the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Texas has always been a homecoming event for our family-owned team and myself. We put in a lot of effort into our cars on a weekly basis, but Texas always seems to be a track that we really emphasize on extra detail to our setups."

Robert Richardson, Jr. will return to the seat for a limited NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule.

R3 Motorsports has also purchased a fleet of Sprint Cup Chevy's from Earnhardt Ganassi Racing to enter all of the NASCAR Sprint Cup races for the 2012 season. Robert Richardson, Jr. will attempt to qualify for his third Daytona 500 and a few other Cup races as well. Greg Conner will be the crew chief and the team will run the #23 in both series.-jayski.com

NASCAR announced penalties and fines to the Nationwide Series No. 23 team (Robert Richardson Jr. driver) as a result of rule infractions at Kentucky Speedway.

The No. 23 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1; 12-4-J and 20A-5.9F (unapproved intake manifold). This violation was discovered during opening day inspection on July 7. Crew chief Walter Giles has been fined $5,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Aug. 17 as a result of the infraction.-NASCAR PR

Robert Richardson, Jr. will have Funny Dan the Race Car Man on board when he takes on the 1.5-mile oval of Charlotte Motor Speedway this Saturday afternoon in the No. 23 Dodge of R3 Motorsports.

Richardson is coming off solid finishes of 20th (Richmond) and 22nd (Iowa) which have helped lock the team into the all-important Owner’s Points battle for a guaranteed starting position in each race. With four previous starts at Charlotte, Richardson’s confidence is strengthened by the team’s recent finishes in three of the last four races of 20th, 13th and 22nd places this season.

Robert Richardson Jr. makes the most improvement in the Nationwide Series after this weekend’s race.

His 20th place finish in the Bubba Burger 250 was 14 places better than his last NNS finish. This earned the No. 23 driver a $2,400 check and the Featherlite "Most Improved Driver" award. Richardson moved up 1 spot to 21st in the 2011 Nationwide Series point standings.

Robert Richardson, Jr. will be making his 77th career NNS start this weekend.

He currently sits 20th in the Driver’s Standings. R3 Motorsports is locked into this weekend’s event via the top-30 ranking in the Owner’s Standings. Richardson has made six previous starts at Nashville during his career. His best finish and qualifying effort took place in 2009 when he crossed the finish line in 21st after starting 29th.

The No. 23 driver’s lap of 169.891 mph was 42nd fastest in qualifying for the the Nationwide Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. He will line up 43rd at the green flag.

Robert Richardson Jr. will be making his 72nd career NNS start and third of the season.

The team had more top-20 finishes last season than the previous two combined, and Richardson is looking to add to that total in 2011. This will be his 4th start on the 1.5-mile oval of LVMS, where he has led a lap and enjoyed his best finish of 19th in the 2008 race. He’s completed 481 of 611 laps. In this race last year, he finished 26th after two pit road speeding penalties put him laps down early.

Robert Richardson Jr. will be making his 68th NASCAR Nationwide Series career at his home track of TMS.

Through his previous six starts at TMS, Richardson has completed 994 of 1,200 laps (82.8%) laps contested. That would have been better if not for an electrical problem in one race and engine problem in the other for his two DNF’s. His best start was Spring ’08 when he qualified 29th and his best finish was 23rd, which he earned in this year’s April event.

Robert Richardson Jr. will once again wheel around the super-fast Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in a Front Row Motorsports Ford.

The quarterback-turned-racer will run his fourth superspeedway race for the team this season when he climbs into the No. 34 for the Amp Energy Juice 500. He has two previous Sprint Cup starts at 'Dega, with a top finish of 18th (October 2009). He finished 26th for Front Row at the track's April event.-Breaking Limits

After taking a hard hit during last Saturday’s race at Michigan, Robert Richardson Jr. was observed by NASCAR medical personnel after the race and then taken to a local hospital for a precautionary CAT scan.

He was released that evening and returned to his Texas home when tests showed negative results regarding injuries. Doctors cleared him to drive and Richardson will climb back in the saddle to compete. In his three previous NNS races at BMS, Richardson has completed 85% of the laps contested with a best start of 19th (Spring ’08) and finish of 29th (Spring ’09).

Robert Richardson, Jr. will be making his 14th start of the 2010 season in the No. 23 Chevrolet of R3 Motorsports.

This will be his second start at O'Reilly Raceway Park, with the first coming in 2007 where he qualified 40th and finished 27th. To date, the native of McKinney, Texas has completed 95.5 percent (2,248 of 2,355) laps contested in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this year. In those 13 previous starts, he has a 27.3 average finishing position.

Robert Richardson, Jr. will pilot the No. 23 Chevrolet for R3 Motorsports in this Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway.

Richardson, who has been out of the seat for the past two weeks while Coleman Pressley drove, is looking to keep the team’s momentum going in the upward direction. Currently 21st in the Owner’s Points standings, the team has gained 10 positions in the past six races. Richardson has made two previous NNS starts at the Monster Mile of Dover, both in 2007, where had a best finish of 27th.
