Kevin Buckler has suspended operations of his No. 71 Ford, which carried Andy Lally to series' Rookie of the Year honors.
TRG Motorsports made 106 starts from 2009-11 and scored two top-10 finishes. Buckler used 11 drivers in those three seasons, including 2000 Cup champion Bobby Labonte and former Truck Series champions Mike Skinner and Mike Bliss. "I want to be in Cup, but I want to be there with a proper program," Buckler said. Andy Lally will return to the Grand-Am Series in 2012 after spending the last season in NASCAR.

Lally was the rookie of the year in NASCAR’s elite Sprint Cup Series. He drove for underfunded TRG Motorsports but left the team before last weekend’s season finale. He ran 30 NASCAR races this season, with a season-best finish of 19th at Talladega. He’s hoping to still run NASCAR, particularly road-course events. Lally is a three-time Rolex Series champion and Grand-Am’s all-time mileage and podiums leader. He’s also a three-time Rolex 24 at Daytona winner.-YahooSports.com

TRG Motorsports announced on Wednesday that longtime driver Andy Lally has parted ways from the No. 71 team, effective immediately.

Mike Bliss, who was originally slated to drive the No. 32 Street King Ford for FAS Lane Racing this weekend, will instead take Lally's place in the No. 71. Neither TRG Motorsports nor Lally wanted to talk in detail about what happened. Lally used Twitter to briefly express his feelings. "Had a hard decision to make this morning, but there are just some things you need to do on principle," he Tweeted. The rookie also made clear he was not pulled from the No. 71.-FrontStretch.com

Andy Lally will miss the Sprint Cup Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.

The No. 71 team is outside the top 35 in owners points and not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s Cup race. His qualifying speed was 45th fastest, which was not good enough to make the cut for the event.

Andy Lally secures the last qualifying slot open to teams outside of the top 35 in owners points for the Sprint Cup race.

His lap of 188.528 mph in the No. 71 was 41st fastest in qualifying for the Sprint Cup AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. He will line up in 43rd at the green flag.

The team earned a 26th place finish in its effort at Richmond earlier this spring and will look to improve upon that result this weekend. TRG Motorsports driver Andy Lally picked up a 26th place finish for the No. 71 Interstate Moving Services Ford Fusion yesterday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the running of the Brickyard 400.

Andy Lally put down his fastest lap of the days leading up to the race right when it counted during qualifying. Getting locked into the field was a huge accomplishment for Andy on his debut visit to the Brickyard, but the icing on the cake was finishing on the lead lap and getting the team back in the Top 35.-TRG Motorsports
