NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will conclude the 2013 season and crown a champion in the Sunoco World Series 150 on Sunday, Oct. 20 at Thompson (Conn.) Speedway.

Donny Lia (4 Dodge), the 2007 and 2009 NWMT champion, has 17 wins, 18 poles and 71 top 10s in 140 career starts. Is up to third in points after 13 events with a win – last time out at Stafford – and seven top 10s. Has three wins, three poles and 13 top 10s in 31 career starts at Thompson. Donny Lia started from the pole and handled all challenges with apparent ease by outdistancing Doug Coby to the finish line by 3.231 seconds to win the CARQUEST Fall Final 150.

The win was his first on the tour since Aug. 9 of last year at Thompson (Conn.) Speedway. The Jericho, N.Y., driver now has 17 career wins. Sunday was his fourth at Stafford and second in the Fall Final.

Donny Lia (4 Dodge) earned his 18th career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Coors Light Pole Award Saturday at Stafford Motor Speedway in advance of the CARQUEST Fall Final 150.

Lia, from Jericho, N.Y., recorded a fast lap of 18.295 seconds (98.388 mph) to edge Bobby Santos for the pole. Santos, who was attempting to become the first driver in Whelen Modified Tour history to sweep a season of pole awards at Stafford, finished with a fast lap of 98.366 mph. Season points leader Ryan Preece qualified third, Rowan Pennink was fourth and Chuck Hossfeld fifth. Todd Szegedy, Justin Bonsignore, Bryon Chew, Doug Coby and Cole Powell rounded out the top 10 qualifiers.

Donny Lia (4 Dodge) leads practice for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour CARQUEST Fall Final 150 at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway.

The 98.285 mph lap was the quickest of the 25 cars out on the track for the practice session. No. 44 Bobby Santos, No. 79 Woody Pitkat, No. 2 Todd Szegedy and No. 88 Bryon Chew are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 33 Wade Cole was the slowest.

Donny Lia runs quickest Kentucky qualifying lap of the Camping World Truck Series go-or-go-homer drivers.

Of the drivers required to make the field on speed, his lap of 173.166 mph in the No. 90 Toyota Tundra was the fastest. His qualifying speed puts him 6th in the lineup for the Camping World Truck Series Built Ford Tough 225.

Donny Lia and Stringer Motorsports partnered for a few of the remaining 2010 races with Lia driving the #90 Toyota beginning this weekend for the Built Ford Tough 225 at Kentucky Speedway.

Says Doug Stringer. "Donny is a great addition to our Stringer Motorsports team along with our other driver Brad Sweet who will soon be featured once again in the #90 Great Clips Racing Truck".

With nine races left in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule SS Green Light Racing and Donny Lia have mutually agreed to seek other opportunities for the remainder of the 2010 season.

The two-time Whelen Modified Tour Champion has run twelve of the first sixteen races of the 2010 NCWTS season for the Mooresville based team with a best finish of twelfth coming at Nashville earlier this month. The team has endured more that their fair share of bad luck having blown tires in no less than four of those races.-TruckSeries.com

The SS Green Light team will complete the manufacturers sweep Wednesday night when 2007 and 2009 Modified Champion Donny Lia get’s behind the wheel of the No. 07 SS Green Light Racing Toyota in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Lia has driven Dodges, Chevrolets and now a Toyota while teammate Jason White has piloted both Fords and Dodge trucks this season as the team looks to find the winning combination each week.

Donny Lia will be back in the No. 07 Chevy for SS Green Light Racing this week as the stars of the truck series makes a return visit to the Music City on Saturday night for the Nashville 200.

This will be his 3rd race at the mile and a third Nashville Superspeedway; he finished 22nd in the April race fighting an ill-handling condition. His best finish at Nashville was 16th in 2008. This will be Lia’s 10th start of the 2010 season for the SS Green Light team and will mark his 34th career start in the NCWTS.

Donny Lia will attempt a "double-duty" weekend competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race with his #21 Truck and for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Series at Pocono Raceway).

Both rides will be sponsored by East End Helicopters / Spray Max for the special weekend. Lia, a two-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Series champion and Camping World Truck Series winner, is primed for the challenge. He has two career ARCA Racing Series starts. He'll be filling in for Steve Arpin in the Venturini Motorsports #55 entry. Arpin will be competing for JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series at Iowa Speedway. The Pocono Mountains 125 Camping World Truck Series race will be Lia's first start and the series' inaugural event at the 2.5-mile Long Pond, Pennsylvania track.

Donny Lia will make his seventh start of the 2010 NCWTS Sunday at the Iowa Speedway.

Lia comes off a strong run three weeks ago at Michigan International where the New York Native finished thirteenth after running in the top-ten much of the day. The strong run at Michigan should give Lia and the SS Green Light team some needed momentum heading into the busy summer stretch where the truckers will race in nine consecutive weeks. This week Donny will be behind the wheel of the SS Green Light Racing No. 07 Chevy. It will be his first start at the Iowa Speedway as the NCWTS made its debut at the track in 2009 while Donny had returned home to race modifieds in the northeast.

Donny Lia is fastest in Happy Hour for the Camping World Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

At 178.755 mph in the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado, he was the fastest of the 37 trucks out on the track for the final practice. No. 3 Austin Dillon, No. 2 Elliott Sadler, No. 81 David Starr and No. 33 Ron Hornaday Jr. ere the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. Wayne Edwards, in the No. 28 truck, was the slowest.

Caught up in an unfortunate wreck in Daytona, along with flat tires at Atlanta and Dover have kept Donny Lia out of the top-ten so far this season.

Friday night Lia and the SS Green Light team hope to avenge some of that bad luck at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. Lia has one previous start at the fast mile and one half speedway back in 2008, but that start was cut short by an early incident.
