Camping World Truck Series regular John Wes Townley tops the speed chart in the Happy Hour practice session for the Nationwide Series History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
He ran a fast lap of 181.087 in the No. 25 Toyota Camry. No. 29 Kenny Wallace, No. 2 Brian Scott, No. 66 Steve Wallace and No. 30 Nelson Piquet Jr. rounded out the top five of the 25 cars out on the track. John Wes Townley and his No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra team are looking for redemption at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The team will utilize Chassis No. 001 which collected four consecutive top-five finishes on intermediate tracks in 2012 (Michigan, Atlanta, Kentucky and Texas). REARVIEW MIRROR-KANSAS: Townley's Toyota Tundra started the race in the 20th position and while his truck was a little tight early on, the team was up in the top-15 racing for position. Unfortunate circumstances on the race track collected Townley in an accident on lap 29 in turn four which ultimately ended their day.-Red Horse Racing

Camping World Truck Series regular John Wes Townley will miss the Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway.

The No. 25 team is outside the top 30 in owner’s points and not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NNS race. His qualifying speed was 42nd fastest, but not good enough to make the cut for the event.

This will be the second visit for John Wes Townley to the D-shaped oval Kansas Speedway.

He collected a 16th-place finish last spring in the 167-lap event and is anxious to showcase his talent during the SFP 250. In addition to his Truck Series stats, Townley has two ARCA Racing series starts at the track and was found leading the ARCA Racing series race last season after his third place qualifying attempt. His 11th place finish at Rockingham last weekend is the highest finish this season for the team and Townley's third highest Truck Series finish.-Red Horse Racing

John Wes Townley will pilot the No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra for the 200-lap North Carolina Education Lottery 200 in what will be his third race at Rockingham Speedway.

In the series debut at 'The Rock', Townley raced a solid race having started in the 20th place and crossing the finish in 20th. In his 2008 ARCA Racing Series rookie season, Townley started 16th and finished 12th in his first race at the track. The first newly constructed chassis at Red Horse Racing in 2013 belongs to the No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra this weekend at Rockingham Speedway.-Red Horse Racing

When the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series makes its way into Martinsville Speedway for the Kroger 250 on Saturday afternoon, John Wes Townley has one goal in mind - improvement.

He says, 'You're only as good as your last race,' and in only two starts at the 0.526-mile track, Townley has a high finish of 18th. The No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra team has their sights set on a solid run at the paperclip. The No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra will take a winning chassis to Martinsville Speedway. Chassis No. 003 tackled the monster mile (Dover) in June to capture Red Horse Racing's first victory at the speedway. Most recently, the team tested chassis No. 003 at the half-mile track of Greenville-Pickens Speedway in preparation for this weekend's 250-lap event.-Red Horse Racing

John Wes Townley will enter his first full-time season behind the wheel of the No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra with Red Horse Racing.

Though the NextEra Energy Resources 250 will be Townley's debut in a truck at Daytona, he has track experience in the Nationwide Series and the ARCA Racing Series to back him up. Just last week, he captured his first win in ARCA leading the final nine laps at Daytona. Townley started the race from the pole position and never fell below the third position for the entire 80-lap race. In just four starts, Townley has earned three top-five and three top-10 finishes with an average finish of 4.8. His worst finish at the speedway is 11th. With veteran crew chief Mike Beam atop the pit box, Townley is looking to go back-to-back at the 2.5-mile speedway.-Red Horse Racing

John Wes Townley and Venturini Motorsports (VMS) will continue their relationship in 2013 with limited schedules in both the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards and the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Townley will kick-off the racing season on February 16th driving his familiar No.15 Zaxby’s Toyota in the ARCA Series Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona. He will also compete with VMS in the ARCA Series at Salem Speedway and Road America. VMS is ready to make their NASCAR Nationwide Series team debut with Townley at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 16th in the Ford Ecoboost 300. Townley, once again with sponsorship support from Zaxby’s, will pilot the VMS Toyota entry featuring the team’s iconic No.25 adorned on the side of the car.

John Wes Townley is slated to drive the No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra with Zaxby's serving as the primary sponsor for the 22-race NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

After competing for Rookie of the Year honors in 2012 and collecting his best series finish of eighth at Pocono Raceway, Townley enters his second full-time season credited with 28 series starts. Veteran crew chief Mike Beam will join John Wes Townley at Red Horse Racing on the No. 7 Toyota Tundra. John Wes Townley is the top rookie qualified for the Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.

His lap of 178.820 mph in the No. 09 truck was eighth fastest, ahead of the rest of the 2012 Rookie of The Year contenders for this race.

While John Wes Townley has not yet raced at Chicagoland Speedway in Camping World Truck Series competition, he has raced there before.

In his only NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the Joliet track, Townley finished 21st in 2009′s Dollar General 300. Additionally, Townley competed here in the 2008 ARCA Racing Series’ ARCA 200. Over the first nine NCWTS races of the 2012 season, Townley has accumulated five top-20 finishes, an average starting position of 21.8 and an average finish of 21.2. Townley has completed 87.1 percent of the laps he’s contested (1,233 of 1,415) thus far.

John Wes Townley will not only drive the No. 99 Toyota Camry in Saturday’s Nationwide Series race, but he will also fulfill his full-time driving duties in Friday afternoon’s Camping World Truck Series race, driving the No. 09 Barberitos Southwestern Grille Toyota Tundra.

In three NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Dover, Townley’s best showing at the one-mile oval is an 18th-place finish, which he posted in September of 2009. Additionally, the 22-year-old driver posted a career-best eighth-place qualifying effort at the one-mile concrete oval in that same event.

John Wes Townley will carry the colors of the Toyota ‘Save in May’ Sales Event in the May 5 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) event at Talladega Superspeedway and in the May 18 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Townley, 22, will drive the No. 24 Toyota ‘Save in May’ Sales Event Toyota Camry at Talladega Superspeedway in a collaborated effort between SR2 Motorsports and RAB Racing with Brack Maggard. Townley’s NCWTS crew chief, Chris Rice, will be atop the pit box for the Watkinsville, Ga., native’s Nationwide Series efforts.

John Wes Townley was suspended by RAB Racing as he faces DUI charges in Georgia. Townley was arrested following a crash that occurred at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Athens Banner-Herald reported that Townley was disoriented, seemed intoxicated and was bleeding from his feet. His car, a 2012 BMW, had run off the roadway and hit a telephone pole, the newspaper reported. "Obviously, this is an unfortunate situation," team owner Robby Benton said in a statement. "However, we have to react to the severity of the incident accordingly."-SceneDaily.com

John Wes Townley will compete for 2012 Rookie of the Year honors in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving its Toyota Tundra.

Townley, 22, has made seven starts in the Camping World Truck Series, most recently at Phoenix International Raceway in November 2008. Townley will join teammate Kenny Wallace, driver of the No. 09 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Townley will be backed by new sponsors for the 2012 season, as well as current sponsors of RAB Racing's NASCAR Nationwide Series program.
