He started the No. 22 Dodge 5th on the grid for the Pocono ARCA 200. The engine expired on the Dodge after 42 laps of the 80 lap event and Self was credited with the 24th place. He is currently 8th in the 2014 ARCA Racing Series point standings.

Austin Wayne Self and the 22 AM Technical Solutions Dodge will steer their way into Ohio for the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway Sunday May 18.

Self actually made his ARCA Racing Series debut at Toledo Speedway in 2013 with a sixth-place finish after starting 10th. Earlier in the week Self and the Cunningham Motorsports team tested at Toledo to prepare for this weekend’s race. At Talladega, he made a remarkable impression for his first Superspeedway start. The Texas native finished third and captured the SCOTT Rookie of the Race award and left in the No. 7 spot in the overall driver point standings. This momentum will be a valuable asset as the teams now approaches Toledo.

Austin Wayne Self made his superspeedway debut memorable, with a third place finish at Talladega Superspeedway in the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200, while helping to push his teammate, Tom Hessert, to victory.

Third was a strong enough run for the rookie to earn the Scott Rookie Challenge of the Race award for the second consecutive week, also winning last week at Salem Speedway. In the four races of the 2014 season, Cunningham Motorsports has earned 3 of the Rookie of the Race awards, with Self winning the last two and Tyler Reddick grabbing the first award at Daytona International Speedway.-ARCA Racing News

Cunningham Motorsports will bring three Dodge Chargers and four drivers to Daytona International Speedway this weekend (Friday into Sunday) for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards test.

Austin Wayne Self, from Austin, Texas, will see the 2.5-mile superspeedway for his first time. Self entered six ARCA Series races with Cunningham during the 2013 season, with a best finish of second at Winchester Speedway. In addition, Self ran five NASCAR K&N Pro Series East/West races.
