Just days after being announced as a full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver for Niece Motorsports next season, Austin Wayne Self heads to Texas Motor Speedway for this Friday night’s JAG Metals 350.

Self, a native of Austin, Texas is hoping that confidence carries from the garage to inside his No. 45 United Sorghum Checkoff Program / Don’t Mess with Texas Chevrolet. In 15 races this season driving for AM Racing, Martins Motorsports and Niece Motorsports, Self earned a career-best second place performance in the season-opening NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona and earned an additional top-10 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, both finishes driving for AM Racing. Overall, Self has earned one top-five, two top-10, seven top-15 and 11 top-20 finishes respectively.-Niece Motorsports

Niece Motorsports announced that Austin Wayne Self will join the organization next season, piloting a full time entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

2018 will mark the Austin, Texas native’s third season in the Truck Series and his second full-time. To date, Self has 37 starts, with one top-five and three top-10 finishes. "I am very humbled and thankful for this opportunity to drive for Niece Motorsports for 2018," said Self, who has a career-best second place finish in the NCWTS at Daytona. Officials from AM Racing announced that 20-year-old Austin Wayne Self will return to the team to compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) next season.

Self, a native of Austin, Texas competed in 22 of the 23 races this past season earning a season-best ninth place finish on the dirt at Eldora Speedway. Despite sitting out Martinsville (Va.) Speedway this past October, the 2014 ARCA Scott Rookie of the Year finished 15th in the overall NCWTS standings.
