Austin Wayne Self will join Niece Motorsports at Kansas Speedway, piloting the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado for the Friday night NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event.

Self has made one NCWTS start so far during the 2017, earning a second-place finish in the season-opening race at Daytona. Last season he ran a full NCWTS schedule, earning a top-10 finish (ninth) at Eldora Speedway. Self also has 46 ARCA Racing Series starts, with a win coming at Winchester Speedway in 2015. Officials from AM Racing announced that 20-year-old Austin Wayne Self will return to the team to compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) next season.

Self, a native of Austin, Texas competed in 22 of the 23 races this past season earning a season-best ninth place finish on the dirt at Eldora Speedway. Despite sitting out Martinsville (Va.) Speedway this past October, the 2014 ARCA Scott Rookie of the Year finished 15th in the overall NCWTS standings. Returning alongside Self for 2017 will be longtime supporter AM Technical Solutions.-AWS Racing

A native son of Austin, Texas, Austin Wayne Self (No. 22 AM Technical Solutions Toyota Tundra), will make his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Texas Motor Speedway.

Self, who sat out during last week’s Martinsville race, finished 13th in June in his first ever race at Texas Motor Speedway. Excited for his homecoming, Self will reunite with his team with a strong supporting cast in his corner. Joining AM Racing and Self at Texas will be a large contingency of supporters from his primary partner, AM Technical Solutions. Sid Miller, the Texas Agriculture Commissioner along with a group from Texas based Four Escobar’s BBQ Sauce will also be on hand to pull for Self and AM Racing.
