Austin Wayne Self led the lone practice for the ARCA Racing Series International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

The lap of 189.380 mph in the No. 98 Ford was the quickest of the 34 cars out on the track for this practice session. No. 55 Cody Coughlin, No. 22 Blake Jones, No. 77 Tom Hessert and No. 15 Frank Kimmel are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 00 Tim Viens was the slowest.

Austin Wayne Self (No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Ford) mounted a charge through the field after a lap five spin to finish fifth at the historic half-mile Salem (IN) Speedway.

On lap four when heading into turn one Self lost power and was hit from behind, sending him spinning up the track. Over the course of the next 50 laps he was able to maneuver his No. 98 into the top-10 and even broke into the top-five by lap 68. Self brought the No. 98 across the stripe in the fifth position for his third top-five finish at the historic high banked half-mile track.-ARCA Racing Series

Austin Wayne Self finished third in Saturday night's ARCA Racing Series race at Fairgrounds Speedway (Nashville, TN).

He started the No. 98 AM Technical Services Ford 13th on the grid for the Troop Aid 200. Self led seven laps of the 200 lap event. He is currently third in the 2015 ARCA Racing Series championship standings.

He started the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Ford on the pole (set by owners points, qualifying rained out) for the ARCA-Mobile 200. Self led two laps in the race.

The 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship team, Mason Mitchell Motorsports, will field two entries for the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway.

Austin Wayne Self, the 2014 SCOTT Rookie of the Year, will drive the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Ford while 2014 ARCA champion Mason Mitchell will pilot the No. 78 MMM Ford. "Having a teammate in the race is going to be huge. At least I have one friend on the track," Mitchell joked. "I want to see us both have a shot at the win and I believe that we can do that. Daytona is the only thing on my mind, it’s the only thing I have lined up so far and I am focused on winning."

Veteran ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards crew chief Ryan "Pickle" London will serve as crew chief for 2014 Scott Rookie of the Year Austin Wayne Self for the 2015 season.

London won two races last season with GMS Racing, at Berlin Raceway and the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, and was in the thick of the 2014 ARCA championship battle as crew chief for Grant Enfinger. Enfinger ultimately finished second in the standings behind Mason Mitchell. "I am excited to join MMM for the 2015 season," London said. "They made an immediate impact in the ARCA Racing Series, winning the championship as a first-year team. I’m looking forward to working with Austin Wayne Self. He’s a talented driver and improved immensely during the 2014 season. I am looking forward to contending for another title with MMM and AWS."

Austin Wayne Self, in the Cunningham Motorsports Dodge, permanently etched his name in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history books as the 2014 SCOTT Rookie of the Year...joining the likes of former Rookies of the Year Benny Parsons, Davey Allison, Jack Bowsher, Bill Venturini, Frank Kimmel and so many more.

And once Self took command of the top-spot, he checked out on the field, finishing more than 100 points in front of his closest rookie rival. Impressive runner-up finishes at Berlin and Lucas Oil Raceway helped him achieve his sixth place finish overall in championship driver standings. Austin Wayne Self will drive the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Ford for Mason Mitchell Motorsports in 2015.

Mitchell won the 2014 ARCA Racing Series championship driving for the team that he formed in December, 2013. Self is coming off winning the SCOTT Rookie of the Year award while driving for Cunningham Motorsports. Both drivers will be honored at the ARCA Racing Series post-season banquet Saturday in Indianapolis. Mitchell said the two drivers had formed a good relationship during this past racing season. After the season ended, Austin moved to North Carolina to be closer to the Mason Mitchell Motorsports headquarters.

He started the No. 22 AM Technical Solutions Dodge seventh on the grid for the ARCA 98.9. He made it to lap 71 of the 99 lap race before exiting the event (Accident).

Austin Wayne Self credited with a DNF (20th place)in Saturday night's ARCA Racing Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL.

He started the No. 22 Dodge 23rd on the grid for the Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. He was involved in an accident and was out of the race after 49 laps into the 100 lap event. He was credited with a 20th place finish.

SCOTT Rookies Cody Coughlin and Austin Wayne Self – both making their ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Chicagoland Speedway – topped the speed charts for the only pre-qualifying practice session.

Coughlin, from Delaware, Ohio, and Self, From Austin, Texas, finished 1-2 in the session, which lasted one hour and 50 minutes. Grant Enfinger, the current series point leader, was third. John Wes Townley had led most of practice but was overtaken by several cars that went out late in qualifying set-ups. Saturday will be an action packed day leading to the Ansell ActivArmr 150.

Austin Wayne Self is in the drivers’ seat to become the fourth driver from the Cunningham Motorsports stable to win the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards SCOTT Rookie Challenge since 2009.

Through 10 races, Self has opened up a wide lead over runner-up Karl Weber, the Hixson Motorsports driver. Self has made nine starts in his No. 22 AM Technical Solutions Dodge, scoring two top five’s and five top 10’s. His season-best is a third at Talladega Superspeedway which was his superspeedway debut.
