Kyle Larson ran up on the back of Derrike Cope No. 99 to bring out the first collision caution of the race. Larson sustained minimal damage and will stay out. Cope was running eight laps behind the leader at the time of the incident and was the last driver out on the track.
With only 35 laps remaining all drivers are within their fuel window and will pit to prepare for the final run of the race, baring any other cautions. Jun 3 - 4:23 PM

Derrike Cope is entered in the No. 99 StarCom Racing Chevrolet and is set to make his fourth start with the team.

Cope’s only other start this season came at Dover International Speedway in May. He was eliminated on lap 144 by an accident, so fantasy players will be uncertain about whether he will make the full distance this week.

StarCom Racing has acquired a charter for the 2018 season from Richard Childress Racing, which means they will run the full schedule. The entry is led by team manager Derrike Cope and crew chief Tony Furr.

Look for this team to make modest but consistent strides during the season with results in the mid to high-30s. Depending on their qualification effort and the potential to earn place-differential points, they may be a decent value a handful of times in 36 races.

StarCom Racing will make its NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series debut at Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday, October 22.

The team, lead by NASCAR veteran Derrike Cope, will showcase the StarCom Racing brand on the big stage for the 400 mile event in the No. 00 Chevrolet. "We are eager to make our debut at Kansas," said Derrike Cope, SCR Team Manager and Driver. "We have hired Tony Furr, a long standing crew chief in both Cup and XFINITY Series." SCR plans to run a limited schedule for the remainder of the 2017 season as they continue to focus on acquiring quality equipment and building momentum for the 2018 season. SCR's primary sponsor for the Hollywood Casino 400 will be StarCom Fiber, a NJ based Telecommunications

Following Saturday's Federated Auto Parts 400 in Richmond, VA, Derrike Cope has parted ways with Premium Motorsports.

Cope was quoted as saying "I'm thankful to Jay Robinson and the folks at Premium for the opportunity they have given me this season to return to the Cup Series but the timing is right to pursue other opportunities." Announcements will follow in the coming weeks as to Cope's plans for the remainder of 2017 and 2018

Derrike Cope has started seven Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races this season and has been running at the end of all of them.

Cope’s first six races ranged from 31st to 38th, but by keeping the car running, Premium Motorsports had an opportunity to improve. The age of starting and parking is over for now.

Derrike Cope came close to cracking the top 30 in his last outing at Bristol Motor Speedway; he finished 31st after starting 39th

Cope was 35 laps off the pace and most of his advancement was because of attrition. The similarly-configured, 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway will not be nearly as kind to this lightly-funded team.

Derrike Cope scored his worst finish of the season in his most recent attempt: He was 38th at Auto Club Speedway two weeks ago after scoring three finishes in the mid-30s.

The No. 55 Premium Motorsports team has been running at the end of all four races Cope has made and it is likely he will do that again this week in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. He will not finish last, but he will not finish well enough to be fantasy relevant.

Derrike Cope had a season-best finish of 33rd last week at Phoenix International Raceway.

Cope was seven laps off the pace and much of his advance came as the result of attrition, but it is still notable that in three starts this year, he has improved each time. There is some benefit to the slow-and-steady approach.

Derrike Cope has been running at the end of his two races in the No. 55 this year.

The veteran Cope knows the only way to build a notebook is to run as many laps as possible. He has a best finish of 35th in 2017 and that came mostly through attrition, but this team is providing support for the No. 15 of Reed Sorenson. Even though they are not particularly fantasy relevant, they play an important role. As long as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series entry list has 40 or fewer cars, look for them to continue to do research and development.

Derrike Cope will be back behind the wheel of the No. 55 Premium Motorsports entry this week, which will be the first time he has run on this track since 2004.

Last week, Cope finished 36th at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He was 27 laps off the pace, but still running at the end. Cope will likely move up only by attrition in the Kobalt 400, and there is not enough upside to make him a good dark horse. Cope also finished in the mid-30s in his latest Vegas effort.

With only 38 cars on the entry list this week, Derrike Cope will make his 27th start at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a Premium Motorsports ride.

Cope attempted to qualify for the fall 2004 race and again in spring 2006, but failed to find enough speed. He failed to finish his last two races with a 38th in spring 2004 and 40th in fall 2003. Fantasy owners should not expect much from him this week, but should pay close attention to his performance in case he becomes a dark horse later.

Former Daytona 500 champion Derrike Cope will be returning to the most elite division of NASCAR in the Monster Energy Cup Series in 2017 with Premium Motorsports.

Cope will be running a limited schedule in the No. 55, with the possibility of a full schedule dependent on sponsorship beginning in Atlanta in March. With over 700 top three series NASCAR starts, the far majority being in the Cup Series, Cope's career started in Winston West (now NASCAR K&N Pro Series-West) and spans 35 years with multiple wins.(Derrike Cope Racing)-via

NASCAR veteran Derrike Cope expects to run full-time in NASCAR's second-tier XFINITY Series for a third consecutive season, the driver confirmed to The Racing Experts.

Cope has competed in his self-owned car in 54 of 66 XFINITY Series races over the last two seasons. Cope's best finish as an owner-driver was a 13th place effort at Daytona International Speedway in July of 2014. The plan for Cope, a one-time winner in the XFINITY Series, is to compete in all 33 races next season. "Right now, my plan is to drive every race, unless we can find a young driver that has the money that we can really elevate the program with," he said. "Otherwise, we're going to continue to keep somebody with a little bit more experience in the car and just try to take a very, again, methodical approach towards it, week in and week out, just try put numbers on the board."-(The Racing Experts)

Derrike Cope finished 28th in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover (DE) International Speedway.

He started the No. 70 Circle Track Warehouse Chevrolet Camaro 38th on the grid for the Buckle Up 200. He completed 187 laps of the 200-lap race. Cope, who made nine of the 12 series races so far this season, is currently 30th in the 2015 XFINITY Series championship standings.
