Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) regular Burt Myers (No. 11 Dunleavy Truck & Repairs/LFR/Citrusafe Chevrolet) finished 13th in Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) season-ending Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.
He started seventh in the lineup and completed all laps of the 155-lap race. Myers competed in only three of the 16 NWMT races this year and closed out the season 41st in the 2017 championship standings after this event. Myers is the reigning SMRS champion. Oct 16 - 4:38 PM

Burt Myers picked up his fifth Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) win of the season Saturday in the Fall Spectacular 75 at Hickory Motor Speedway. It was his series-high seventh career victory on the tour.

Danny Bohn followed Myers into second spot and kept a close watch on the reigning series champ but was never able to mount a challenge. Brandon Ward held on for a third-place finish. Andy Seuss of Hampstead, N.H. was fourth with Jason Myers of Walnut Cove fifth. The SMRS wraps up the 2017 season on Saturday, October 21 at Orange County Speedway in Rougement, N.C.-SMRS

Burt Myers of Walnut Cove, N.C. scored his third consecutive Southern Modified Racing Series victory Saturday night in the 152-lap feature at Caraway Speedway. It was his fifth-career series victory in the 19 events held to date.

The day started for Myers with a third-place run in qualifying, yielding a starting spot on the inside of the second row. He raced at the front of the field early and on lap 116 made the move past second-starting Bobby Measmer of Concord for the lead. From there he rolled to victory lane. Jeremy Gerstner of Wesley Chapel, Fla. finished second with Measmer third. Jason Myers of Walnut Cove was fourth with Tobaccoville’s Tim Brown fifth.

Burt Myers, the reigning champion of the Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS), scored his first and second wins of the 2017 season Friday with victory in both halves of the Twin-50 feature events at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, NC..

Myers won the pole, earning him the front starting spot in the first feature. He led every lap to victory. The field was shuffled for the restart of the second feature. Myers started sixth and with only four laps to go in the 50-lap feature, he took the lead and went on to victory. The wins were Myers third and fourth career victories in the SMRS, all at Caraway. With Friday night’s races, there have now been 18 features events in the tour now in its second year.

Midway through the 2017 Southern Modified Racing Series season Burt Myers, of Walnut Cove, NC finds himself ninth in the standings.

He missed the first race of the season – a postponed race at Caraway that was re-scheduled to a date when Myers was on a family cruise. From the second race forward he has been a man on a mission. Myers has two seventh place finishes along with a third and two second-place runs. In the most recent race at Hickory he was inches from the lead when a caution, and ultimately rain, would end the event. Myers was the inaugural season SMRS Champion in 2016.

Burt Myers (No. 1 Citrusafe Cleaners Ford) finished 10th in Saturday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) season-opening Performance Plus 150 at Myrtle Beach (SC) Speedway.

He started 18th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 155-lap race. Myers is currently 10th in the 2017 NWMT championship standings after this event.

In a season filled with accolades for the 40-year-old Walnut Cove, N.C. driver, Burt Myers captured three wins, nine top-fives and 11 top-10 finishes.

He also scored two Coors Light Pole Awards, adding to his total (30) as the all-time pole award winner in the history of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour. As the final champion of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour before the unification with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour for the 2017 season, the title is bittersweet for the longtime veteran. His family, including brother Jason, has been involved in NASCAR modified racing for years and being the final champion before the merger means a lot to him.

Burt Myers won his second NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour championship after the Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150 Thursday night on the quarter-mile track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Myers, also scored his first tour title in 2010 at CMS, won three times on the 2016 schedule and held the lead throughout the season. The Walnut Cove, N.C. driver entered the season finale just needing to take the green flag to celebrate and deny Andy Seuss a third straight crown. Myers is the third champion to be crowned in the NASCAR Touring division and he’ll join the other six touring and weekly series champions from across the globe on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Charlotte for the NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Awards celebration.

He started second in the lineup, led 85 laps and completed all laps of the 150-lap race. Myers continues as the leader in the 2016 NWSMT point standings after the event, leading Andy Seuss (finished fourth in the Caraway 150) by 22 points.

Won the season opener and the most recent race at Caraway Speedway (Sophia, NC) in April and now has four wins, a record 13 poles, 24 top fives and 42 top 10s in 57 career Caraway starts. Was the NWSMT’s inaugural event pole sitter at Caraway, and won the second-ever race there on April 9, 2005.
