Brothers Enrique and Carlos Contreras are pleased to announce the formation of the first Mexican team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), Contreras Motorsports.
Crew Chief Tim Andrews, son of crew chief champion, Paul Andrews, will lead the talented young crew on their inaugural season. The team will be running trucks that are prepared for different tracks that the series visits throughout the season, with the purpose of providing opportunities for up-and-coming drivers looking to break into NASCAR. Carlos Contreras, who has more than 100 NASCAR starts and six Daytona appearances, will be driving the Chevy Silverado No. 71 at the Nextera Energy Resources 250. Carlos Contreras finished 34th in Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Richmond (VA) International Raceway.

He started the No. 15 BYB Chevrolet Camaro 38th on the grid for the ToyotaCare 250. He completed 238 laps of the 250 lap race. Contreras, who made two of the eight races so far this season, is currently 42nd in the 2015 XFINITY Series championship standings.

Fully recovered from ligaments injuries sustained in a qualifying crash in the NASCAR XFINITY Series season opener at Daytona in February, Carlos Contreras returns to action this weekend in time to make his Bristol debut in Saturday afternoon’s Drive To Stop Diabetes 300.

Following Bristol, the Mexico, City, Mexico driver is slated to compete in the next two NASCAR XFINITY Series races at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway and Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway respectively.

Carlos Contreras (No. 15 BurnieGrill/BubbaBurger/LillyTrucking Chevrolet Camaro) misses the show for the XFINITY Series Alert Today Florida 300 at Daytona International Speedway.

The team is not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NXS race. Based on NASCAR’s time trial knockout procedure, upon completion of the first round of qualifying, the 40 eligible cars for starting positions 1-40 is determined. His car was listed as 47th on the chart.

A week after watching his nephew make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Martinsville, Carlos Contreras will exchange a radio for a steering wheel and compete in Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway.

More importantly, Contreras' start on Saturday will reach a huge milestone for the Hispanic racer. By taking the green flag in the final stretch of the NASCAR Nationwide Series season, Contreras will have competed in 100 national series races across the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Nationwide Series, dating back to 1999. Carlos Contreras will be back behind the wheel of the No. 44 38 Special/Ingersoll Rand/Voli Camry at Watkins Glen this weekend.

Contreras raced with TriStar Motorsports at Road America earlier this season where he finished 15th. He has two previous NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at the 3.4-mile, 11-turn WGI road course. In these two starts, Contreras has an average starting position of 20.0 and an average finishing position of 32.0. In 2000, Contreras made his one, and only, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Watkins Glen where he started 6th and finished 8th.-TriStar Motorsports NC

Carlos Contreras and the No. 44 38 Special/Voli/Ingersoll Rand Camry had a rough start to race day when the team was unable to make a qualifying run due to a gear issue.

Determined to overcome adversity, he started 35th and by lap two, he was scored in 23rd. With 30 laps to go, the No. 44 Camry was running 18th and would pit on lap 25 for rain tires. Contreras came to pit road with around 11 laps to go for fuel only. With seven laps to go Contreras was scored in the 11th position. Due to the intense G-W-C finish, Contreras finished in the 15th position.-TriStar Motorsports NC

NASCAR's first Hispanic driver, Carlos Contreras, will be behind the wheel of the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Toyota Camry for the road course races on the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule.

He will pilot a TriStar Motorsports Camry at Road America (June 21st), Watkins Glen (August 9th) and Mid-Ohio (August 16th). Contreras was recently at TriStar Motorsports to meet the team and get fitted into the road course car being built for him.-TriStar Motorsports

Carlos Contreras will return this weekend to NASCAR's Nationwide Series in the "Blue Jeans Go Green 200, Presented by Cotton, the Fabric of Our Lives" in Avondale, AZ.

He will attempt to make the 40 car field in the Voli Vodka / Global Aircraft Solutions #23 Chevy Camaro. The Phoenix race will mark Contreras’s 88th NASCAR race and get him closer to completing his "Chase to 100" this year. Carlos will be participating in additional Nationwide Series events throughout 2014 for RWR in his "Chase for 100". Next on his schedule is California on March 22nd. Additional confirmed races on the 2014 schedule include Texas (1 & 2), Daytona (2), Homestead-Miami and, among others, the 3 Road Courses.
