George Brunnhoelzl III is once again all alone atop the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour career wins list at Caraway Speedway.

With his performance Saturday night Brunnhoelzl took home the checkered flag in the Daggett & Shuler Attorneys at Law Rusty Harpe Memorial 150 for his 12th career victory at the venerable .455-mile oval. That breaks a tie for the track lead he was in with Andy Seuss, who won the tour’s last visit to Caraway in March.

If it wasn’t for a pair of late-race accidents at Langley and Caraway Speedways, George Brunnhoelzl III (Honorable Mention as NWSMT Top Driver) - already the record holder with four tour titles - would have celebrated his fourth straight and fifth out of the past six seasons.

Brunnhoelzl finished the campaign with two wins to extend his streak of consecutive seasons with at least two or more wins a season to four and now has a record-setting 22 career wins. George Brunnhoelzl III finishes third in Thursday night's NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season-ending race at the quarter-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway.

He started the No. 28 Composite Tech./Performance Tech. Chevrolet second in the lineup for the Southern Slam 150. GB3 led 20 of the 154 laps. He finished the season second in the 2014 NWSMT point standings.

George Brunnhoelzl III (No. 28 Composite Technologies Chevrolet) leads the first practice for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season finale Southern Slam 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (1/4 mile oval).

The 14.890 second lap was the quickest of the 24 cars out on the track for the practice session. No. 73 Cole Powell, No. 98 Ryan Preece, No. 40 Luke Fleming and No. 5 Kyle Ebersole are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 79 Spencer Davis was the slowest.
