The team is not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NXS race. Based on NASCAR’s time trial knockout procedure, upon completion of the first round of qualifying, the 40 eligible cars for starting positions 1-40 is determined. The car was listed as 42nd on the chart.

Affarano Motorsports announced today that Johanna Long would be getting her first career start of NASCAR’s XFINITY Series 2015 season at the ToyotaCare 250 race at Richmond International Raceway taking place on Friday, April 24th.

In a telephone conversation with ESPN on Wednesday, Johanna Long said she and her Mike Affarano Racing team have decided not to race during the season-opening Speedweeks events at Daytona this month as originally hoped.

"The car we planned to run did not have the necessary updates that are required to pass the NASCAR certification process," Long said. She said rather than rush the updates onto the car, the decision was made to pull out of the Alert Today Florida 300, which is scheduled for Feb. 21. Asked when the car would be ready and able to race, Long said, "It's hard to put a time frame on it. We're just trying to get as prepared as possible for when we do make our debut." The plan was to enter the #03 Chevy in the XFINITY event at Daytona even though no primary sponsor had been inked.(

Mike Affarano Motorsports announced Wednesday that Johanna Long will compete with the team in select NASCAR XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series events in 2015.

Long competed in the NASCAR XFINITY Series part time in 2012 and 2013, and looks to continue to gain experience in the series. In 2012, she became the youngest female driver to compete in the XFINITY Series. Long will make her team debut in the currently unsponsored No. 03 XFINITY Series Chevrolet on Feb. 21 at Daytona. Mike Affarano Motorsports, located in Salisbury, N.C., is new to the XFINITY Series. Johanna Long and the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet team head to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the final event of the NASCAR Nationwide Series season.

Johanna Long and the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet team roll into Charlotte Motor Speedway for the second time this season for the Dollar General 300.

The ML Motorsports team will take chassis No. 61, last run at Chicagoland Speedway where the team finished 26th. In the 2012 event at Kansas Speedway, Johanna Long and the ML Motorsports team had a strong qualifying run that landed them inside the top-10.

An incident at the halfway point in the race derailed the team's fortunes, relegating Long to a 32nd-place finish. Johanna Long and the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach ML Motorsports team will head to the Bluegrass State this weekend for the second time this season to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kentucky 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

The team will transport chassis No. 65 which was utilized in the July race at Chicagoland Speedway where Long finished 20th. The last time the ML Motorsports crew made the trip Sparta, Ky., the No. 70 team cracked the top-20 during qualifying and consistently held on to that spot to finish 20th.-Drivers Choice Marketing

Johanna Long (70 Chevrolet) heads to Chicagoland Speedway for the second time this NASCAR Nationwide Series season for the Dollar General 300.

The first event at Chicagoland in the NNS this July, Long noted she was struggling to find grip around the 1.5-mile track. After working her way up to 17th position she reported that she was extremely loose resulting in a 20th position finish. Johanna Long (70 Chevrolet) heads to Richmond for the second time this season for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250.

In the first NNS event at Richmond in April, Long started 13th and maintained a top-15 spot throughout the race. Long maneuvered around the track to finish 15th, marking her second-highest finish of the season. In the first Nationwide Series event at Iowa in June, Johanna Long started 21st and worked her way into the top-15 early in the event.

Long was able to battle around the Newton, Iowa track to finish 12th, marking her best finish of the 2013 season and tying her career-best Nationwide Series finish. In the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Indianapolis, Johanna Long started from the 17th position and worked her way around the Speedway, Indiana track.

Competing inside the top 20, Long started to experience vibrations, forcing the ML Motorsports team to take the No. 70 behind the wall. Working with drive shaft issues, Long was able to get back on track, but finished the event in 30th. Johanna Long is bummed that her debut part-time Nationwide Series schedule ended so quickly and is already looking forward to getting behind the wheel in February.

She garnered a lot of attention this past season, competing in the No. 70 Chevrolet for ML Motorsports. Long and ML Motorsports have yet to finalize their 2013 plans but expect to run a similar schedule to last year barring an increase in funding. The team ran 22 of 33 races last season and finished 20th in the overall standings.

Johanna Long and the ML Motorsports team will take to the track at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, July 22 for the STP 300.

After coming off of a NNS career-best finish of 12th at Daytona, Long is ready to continue the momentum going in to this weekend’s race at Chicagoland Speedway. The 20-year-old rookie has only one prior start at the 1.5-mile track. However, she has experience and several top-20 finishes at the 1.5-mile tracks that she and the ML Motorsports team has visited earlier this season.
