The XFINITY Series Dover race postponement (to Sunday at 10:00 am) -- due to weather -- left teams scrambling to assemble its lineups Saturday afternoon with playoff chances on the line.
Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup contender, Kyle Busch, was expected to perform double-duty, but with both races now on Sunday, teams had to reassemble its lineups so he could focus on the main event -- the first elimination race in the Chase. Drew Herring (#28 JGL Young Guns Toyota) finished 16th in Saturday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA.

He started 9th on the grid and completed 249 of the 250 laps run. Herring, who started in 4 of the 19 series races so far this season, moved up three spots to 32nd in the 2016 NXS championship standings after this event.

Drew Herring (No. 28 JGL Racing Toyota Camry) will be making his seventh career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Iowa Speedway to go along with one previous start in the Camping World Truck Series.

Drew has had much success at Iowa Speedway having earned two career Pole Awards and a best finish of sixth which came during the 2013 season at the Newton, Iowa track. Herring is filling in for Dakota Armstrong. Armstrong will be filling in for recovering Matt Tifft in the Joe Gibbs Racing #18 Toyota in the XFINITY race at Pocono Raceway.

The event will mark his 18th career start in the series and third one this season after piloting the No. 24 Toyota to top-20 finishes at both Dover and Charlotte. Drew Herring (#24 JGL Young Guns Toyota Camry) finished 14th in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Ollie's Bargain Outlet 200 at Delaware's Dover International Speedway.

He started 21st on the grid and completed 119 laps of the 120-lap race. Herring, who made his first series start of this season, is currently 38th in the 2016 NXS championship standings after this event.

Drew Herring has been added to JGL Racing's highly successful "Young Guns" program. The Benson, North Carolina native will pilot the No. 24 Toyota at the May 16th NASCAR XFINITY Series Ollie's Bargain Outlet 200 at Dover International Speedway.

He ran a fast lap of 175.959 mph in the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry. No. 22 Ryan Blaney, No. 18 Daniel Suarez, No. 33 Brandon Jones and No. 2 Brian Scott round out the top-five of the 39 cars out on the track. The No. 40 Dodge driven by John Jackson Jr. was the slowest in the final practice session.

Drew Herring won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 3M 250 with a lap of 23.439 seconds, 134.391 mph.

This is the No. 20 Interstate Batteries Toyota driver's second pole in 16 NASCAR XFINITY Series races. It is his first pole and first top-10 start in 2015. It is Herring's second pole in six races at Iowa Speedway.

Brian Vickers (No. 20 Dollar General Toyota) learned this week he would have to sit out the remainder of the 2013 season to deal with health issues.

Denny Hamlin will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start of this season in Texas on Saturday, November 2, filling in for Vickers while Drew Herring will take over in the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota on November 9 at Phoenix and the season finale November 16 at Homestead.-Joe Gibbs Racing

Of the teams required to make the field on speed, the lap of 123.356 mph was the fastest. The qualifying speed puts him 12th in the lineup for the Nationwide Series Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Drew Herring wins the Coors Light Pole Award in Newton, Iowa.

He put up a 135.367 mph lap in the No. 54 Toyota to start up front in the Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250. He finished the race in sixth place. Herring, who made only two starts so far this season, moved up 11 spots to 42nd in the 2013 NNS point standings.

Herring, a familiar face at JGR, along with the six-time 2013 winners look forward to week 12 running the Pioneer 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton. In 2010 Benson, N.C. native Herring began his NASCAR Nationwide Series career at Baker Curb Racing with his debut race at Iowa Speedway.
