Drew Herring (#24 JGL Racing Young Guns Toyota) will be making his sixth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Iowa Speedway to go along with one previous start in the Camping World Truck Series.
The event will mark his 18th career start in the series and third one this season after piloting the No. 24 Toyota to top-20 finishes at both Dover and Charlotte. Drew Herring (#24 JGL Young Guns Toyota Camry) finished 14th in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Ollie's Bargain Outlet 200 at Delaware's Dover International Speedway.

He started 21st on the grid and completed 119 laps of the 120-lap race. Herring, who made his first series start of this season, is currently 38th in the 2016 NXS championship standings after this event.

Drew Herring has been added to JGL Racing's highly successful "Young Guns" program. The Benson, North Carolina native will pilot the No. 24 Toyota at the May 16th NASCAR XFINITY Series Ollie's Bargain Outlet 200 at Dover International Speedway.

It will be Herring's 16th career start in the XFINITY Series. In his previous 15 starts in the NXS, he has accumulated two Pole Awards, five Top 10 finishes and one Top 5 finish.-Integrity Sports Marketing

Drew Herring tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for the XFINITY Series VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

He ran a fast lap of 175.959 mph in the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry. No. 22 Ryan Blaney, No. 18 Daniel Suarez, No. 33 Brandon Jones and No. 2 Brian Scott round out the top-five of the 39 cars out on the track. The No. 40 Dodge driven by John Jackson Jr. was the slowest in the final practice session.

Drew Herring won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 3M 250 with a lap of 23.439 seconds, 134.391 mph.

This is the No. 20 Interstate Batteries Toyota driver's second pole in 16 NASCAR XFINITY Series races. It is his first pole and first top-10 start in 2015. It is Herring's second pole in six races at Iowa Speedway.

Of the teams required to make the field on speed, the lap of 123.356 mph was the fastest. The qualifying speed puts him 12th in the lineup for the Nationwide Series Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Drew Herring wins the Coors Light Pole Award in Newton, Iowa.

He put up a 135.367 mph lap in the No. 54 Toyota to start up front in the Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250. He finished the race in sixth place. Herring, who made only two starts so far this season, moved up 11 spots to 42nd in the 2013 NNS point standings.

Herring, a familiar face at JGR, along with the six-time 2013 winners look forward to week 12 running the Pioneer 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton. In 2010 Benson, N.C. native Herring began his NASCAR Nationwide Series career at Baker Curb Racing with his debut race at Iowa Speedway. Kyle Busch Motorsports announced that Drew Herring will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut driving the team’s flagship No. 18 Tundra in the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Sept. 15.

Herring has eight career starts in the Nationwide Series, including an 11th-place finish after qualifying fifth in his most recent start at Iowa Speedway last August. Last season, the Benson, N.C. native finished 12th or better in all four of his NNS starts for Joe Gibbs Racing, collecting two top-10 finishes while leading 39 laps and completing all 929 laps available.

Joe Gibbs Racing announced that Drew Herring will pilot the #20 Sport Clips Toyota in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Iowa this Sunday, May 22.

Herring, 23, has made four career starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with all four outings coming last season. His career-best finish came at Iowa Speedway in 2010 when he finished on the lead lap and posted a 15th-place finish.(JGR)-jayski.com
