Eddie MacDonald finishes 2nd in Friday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

He started the No. 71 Chevrolet 9th in the lineup for the Granite State 100. He is currently 17th in the 2014 KNPSE point standings.

Eddie MacDonald will make his Cup debut this week in the No. 32 Frank Stoddard car, but he is no stranger to this track with more than 20 starts in various major stock car series.

MacDonald has victories in the American Canadian Tour and Grand National East series, but his best finish in the Nationwide or Truck series was a 30th in Trucks. The No. 32 has consistently finished in the 30s this year, so look for MacDonald to score a result in 35th- to 39th-place range.

Eddie MacDonald will drive the No. 32 Go FAS Racing Ford Fusion in his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut on July 13.

MacDonald drive the car owned by fellow New Englanders Archie St. Hilaire from Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and long-time NASCAR crew chief Frank Stoddard from No. Haverhill, New Hampshire. Completing the all-New England team is Michael Alden, President and CEO of Blue Vase Marketing based in Beverly, Massachusetts, as the primary sponsor aboard the Go FAS Racing entry in the Camping World Sales 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 13.

Veteran Eddie MacDonald (No. 71 Chevrolet) from Rowley, Mass., took the lead on the green-white-checkered finish to the PittLite 125 and held off Gray Gaulding and Ben Rhodes to win the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at "The Last Great Colosseum."

It's MacDonald's first win since September of 2009 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and the seventh of his career. The rookie Rhodes, 17, was looking for his first career win in his 10th start. He won the 21 Means 21 Pole Award in qualifying Thursday and led every lap Saturday up until the final restart. A late wreck set of the extended finish that pushed the race to 132 laps.
