For second generation driver Tom Hessert, racing runs in the family; his father Tom Hessert II is a very accomplished road racer with victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Sebring, Lime Rock and more.

Tom II followed in his father's footsteps, but on a different path...through the open wheel ranks to, eventually, ARCA where he's become a big part of the series brand, finishing in the top-10 national championship point standings in seven consecutive seasons. Hessert, who drives for Cunningham Motorsports, tied his career-best points finish in 2014, taking his third win at Salem in his last five attempts on the historic southern Indiana short track.
