Venturini Motorsports (VMS) driver Tom Hessert is riding momentum going into Toledo Speedway for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care on May 22.

In his last series attempt, Hessert finished fourth at Talladega, led the most laps and won the Menards Pole Award. In 12-career starts at the Toledo, Ohio short track he’s accumulated six top-5 and nine top-10. In 2015, he finished second to race winner Todd Gilliland, who drove to victory lane driving for VMS. Coming off back-to-back strong finishes at Talladega and Salem, Hessert has overcome a slow start to the ’16 campaign to find himself on the rise and sitting fourth in ARCA Racing’s driver championship point standings going into the series fifth season event.-VMS

Tom Hessert is fourth in the ARCA Racing Series championship standings and especially excited about the next stretch of ARCA races beginning with the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway May 22.

Hessert indeed had a great day last year at Toledo, qualifying third and finishing second to race winner Todd Gilliland. He’s also got a lot of laps around the half-mile short track with 12 previous starts, every ARCA race at Toledo since 2008. He’s not just making laps either. In fact, Hessert’s earned nine top-10 finishes at Toledo, including six top-fives.

Tom Hessert turned in another Talladega gem only to settle for a fourth place finish during Friday’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menard General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Hessert (#25 RelaxWraps.com - Cometic Toyota), started on the pole, led a race high 23-laps, but came up short during one of the most exciting ARCA restrictor plate races in recent memory. Continuing a trend as a force to be reckoned with at restrictor plate races, Hessert, who won Talladega in 2014, ran out of fuel leading the race last year on the final lap, only makes the case stronger as a pre-race favorite when the series returns in 2017.-Venturini Motorsports

Qualifying has ended and Tom Hessert (#25 RelaxWraps.com-Cometic Toyota) is the winner of the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell.

Hessert has had pretty good luck at Talladega with fast cars the last two years, winning in 2014 and leading until he ran out of gas in 2015. Another fast car today was Gus Dean's who finished first in practice. Dean, who hasn't raced with ARCA since Daytona, had the second fastest qualifying time. Bobby Gerhart, John Wes Townley and Matt Kurzejewski rounded out the top five in third, fourth and fifth, respectively.-ARCA Racing

You’d be hard-pressed to find another driver whose experienced the highs and lows of Talladega Superspeedway quite like Tom Hessert (#25 RelaxWraps.com-Cometic Toyota).

In 2014, he won in dramatic fashion, stealing the lead away from John Wes Townley during the final laps to earn his fifth career series win. Last season on the verge of winning back-to-back Talladega races, he dominated the race leading 60 of the scheduled 76-laps but ran out of gas when the race was forced into overtime by a late race caution flag, handing the win over on lap-79 to fellow competitor Blake Jones. Now paired with Venturini Motorsports, Hessert returns to Alabama hoping to regain his luck in Friday night’s ARCA General Tire 200 at Talladega.-Venturini Motorsports

Hessert, a native of Cherry Hill, NJ, made the offseason move to VMS after driving the previous four seasons with Cunningham Motorsports. He inherits the No. 25 Toyota, which was vacated by last season's driver combination of Frank Kimmel and Brandon Jones. Hessert, already a five time ARCA Series winner, will make his 160th career start and ninth attempt at Daytona glory. Of his five wins, Hessert has one restrictor plate victory to his credit, winning at Talladega in 2013.-Venturini Motorsports
