Joey Coulter will make his first Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Coulter made his NNS debut earlier this season at Charlotte and tested a NNS car at Nashville Superspeedway. He has one previous start at the Homestead, Fla.-based facility in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, earning a fifth-place finish after starting from the 10th position. Prior to competing in the NNS race in the No. 21 Chevrolet, Coulter will pilot the No. 22 Rip It Energy Fuel Chevrolet in the Camping World Truck Series.-Richard Childress Racing

Joey Coulter had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in Happy Hour practice for the Camping World Truck Series Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway.

His average speed of 131.303 mph in the No. 22 was best of the 14 trucks that ran 10 consecutive laps on the track for this session. No. 29 Ryan Blaney, No. 88 Matt Crafton, No. 51 German Quiroga and No. 4 Kyle Larson were the rest of the top five on this list.

Kyle Busch Motorsports announced the team has signed Joey Coulter to compete for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver’s championship in 2013.

Coulter currently ranks fifth in the 2012 Truck Series driver point standings and is tied for the series lead with three poles. The 22-year-old driver picked up his first career Truck Series win at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway in August and has collected six top-five and 13 top-five finishes in 20 starts this season. Overall in two Truck Series campaigns, the Florida native has recorded one win, three poles, 11 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes across 45 career starts and earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2011.

Joey Coulter’s team wins two race awards in the Camping World Truck Series Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Coulter won $2,300 for the Keystone Light Pole Award (176.632 mph). He led the most laps (40 of 146) and finished in third place. Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines, supplier of the engine in the No. 22 Chevrolet, wins the $1,900 Mahle Clevite Engine Builder of the Race award. Coulter is fourth in the 2012 NCWTS point standings.

Joey Coulter won the Keystone Light Pole Award for the 16th Annual Smith's 350 with a lap of 30.572 seconds, 176.632 mph.

This is the No. 22 Chevrolet Silverado driver's third pole in 42 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races. It is his third pole and 10th top-10 start in 2012. He also won the pole for last weekend's race in Kentucky. Coulter has the most poles of any driver in 2012. This is his first pole in two races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Joey Coulter is fastest in Happy Hour for the Camping World Truck Series Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

At 176.108 mph in the No. 22 Chevrolet, he was the fastest of the 34 trucks out on the track for the final practice. No. 17 Timothy Peters, No. 29 Grant Enfinger, No. 13 Johnny Sauter and No. 18 David Mayhew were the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. No. 84 Chris Fontaine was the slowest.
