In a race that featured multiple lead changes on nearly every lap – 35 official lead changes – the Franklin, Mass., driver made just one pass for the lead and led just one lap Saturday. Santos drove his No. 44 Tinio Racing/ImperialCars.com Chevrolet by Ted Christopher in Turn 4 of the last lap en route to winning the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The 130.950 mph lap was the quickest of the 31 cars out on the track for the practice session. No. 70 Andy Seuss, No. 88 Woody Pitkat, No. 4 Donny Lia and No. 15 Todd Szegedy are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 31 Melissa Fifield was the slowest.

Bobby Santos wrestled the lead away from Donny Lia and went on to claim the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory in the Mr. Rooter 161 at Waterford Speedbowl.

It was Santos' second win of the season and 12th of his career. It was his first tour win at Waterford. A green-white-checkered finish pushed the race to 165 laps. Lia, who earlier in the night won the Coors Light Pole Award, finished second.

Bobby Santos had the fastest car in practice and qualifying on the original race date of May 23, and remained fastest in the second try at getting the event in on May 30.

Both nights ended in rainouts before the Whelen Modified Tour hit the track, but in tonight’s third attempt little has changed on the track as Santos once again led the way. Behind the wheel of the No. 44 Tinio Racing/ImperialCars.com Chevrolet, Santos paced the field with a fast lap of 18.271 seconds (98.517 mph) during the 30 minute session Friday evening at the historic half mile. Following three practices led and a Coors Light Pole since May 23, Santos will attempt to gain his seventh Whelen Modified Tour Stafford victory later tonight.-ARCA Racing News

For the second year in a row, Bobby Santos has the unique experience of sitting on the pole for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 for two weeks prior to green flag thanks to a pair of rainouts.

He and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will return to Stafford Motor Speedway for a third attempt at contesting the race this Friday. It actually marks the second year in a row that the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 has twice been pushed back due to adverse weather. In 2013 the event was washed out by rain on May 24 and June 7 before it ran to completion on June 14.

After setting the pace in practice earlier in the day, Bobby Santos wins the Coors Light Pole Award in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour qualifying on Friday for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 with a time of 18.327 seconds for an average speed of 98.216 mph on the half-mile oval.

Santos, 28, has been the top qualifier in four of his last six starts at the track including three of four during the 2013 season and won this season’s NAPA Spring Sizzler 200 at Stafford on April 27. He will be joined on the front row by the 2012 tour title winner, Doug Coby, who posted a qualifying time of 18.403 seconds (97.810 mph).
