David Mayhew finishes 14th in Saturday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-West race at Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, CO.

He started the No. 17 MMI Services/Ron's Rear Ends Chevrolet on the pole for the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150. He led 20 laps but lost the lead to Brandon McReynolds. He continued to contend for the lead until an accident with a lapped car on Lap 81 forced him to pit road. Mayhew returned to the track just before Lap 100, finishing the event in the 14th position. He is currently 4th in the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series-West point standings after this event.

David Mayhew wins the Coors Light Pole award at Colorado National Speedway ahead of the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event on Saturday night.

The Atascadero, California, native went out second-to-last and turned in a fast lap of 16.829 seconds (79.149 mph) around the .375-mile semi-banked oval. It was the 10th pole award for Mayhew and his second of 2014. Brandon McReynolds was second quickest with a time of 16.891 seconds (78.859). McReynolds turned in the fastest lap of the two practice sessions earlier in the afternoon and was on the provisional pole before Mayhew's qualifying lap.

A two-time winner so far this year, David Mayhew took the first step toward adding to that total by posting the fastest lap in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West practice Saturday at State Line Speedway.

Mayhew, from Atascadero, Calif., turned in a quick lap of 13.858 seconds (64.944 mph) around the banked quarter-mile in the second of two practice sessions for tonight’s NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150. He finished third on the board in first practice at 14.078 (63.930).

David Mayhew led nearly the last two-thirds of the race at Stockton 99 Speedway Saturday night in the Stockton 150 to pick up his fifth career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West victory.

Mayhew won the Coors Light Pole Award earlier in the day behind the wheel of his No. 17 MMI/Ron’s Rear Ends Chevrolet and then held off a furious challenge from Greg Pursley to pick up his first win since Phoenix in March of 2012. Pursley scored his best Stockton finish in four starts at the track with his previous best being a fourth-place showing in 2012. With a third-place finish Giles Thornton recorded his best series finish in 17 starts. Rounding out the top five was Brandon McReynolds and Thomas Martin, who also picked up his best series finish in 19 tries.

David Mayhew (No. 17 Chevrolet) earned his ninth career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Coors Light Pole Award -- and first since 2012 -- with a fast lap at Stockton 99 Speedway Saturday evening in qualifying for the night's Stockton 150.

Mayhew posted a lap of 13.836 seconds (65.048 mph) around the historic quarter-mile Northern California track. Rookie James Bickford, who had the best lap in the afternoon's practice, qualified second at 13.839 (65.034), followed by Greg Pursley at 13.844 (65.010). Dylan Lupton and Brandon McReynolds qualified fourth and fifth, respectively.
