Ryan Reed, who qualified ninth for Saturday afternoon’s XFINITY Series Hisense 4k TV 300, had a fast No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
He ran solidly in the top 10 and top five throughout the 200-lap race. Reed tagged the outside wall while battling for position late in the race on a restart, resulting in some right-side damage. Despite the damage, Reed was able to battle it out until the end and cross the finish line 11th. He gained two spots to sixth in the 2017 NXS driver championship standings after this event. Ryan Reed (No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang) was credited with a 29th place DNF in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series Spark Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway.

He started 11th on the grid and completed 49 laps of the 113 laps run before exiting the race (Accident). Reed, who entered all nine NXS races so far this season, slipped from sixth to eighth in the 2017 championship standings after this event.

In seven NXS starts at Daytona International Speedway, Reed has earned two wins, three top-fives and four top-10s. He won the 2017 season-opening race at Daytona, securing a position in the playoff field. His previous win came in 2015 where he qualified eighth and led a total of 14 laps before taking the checkered flag. Reed made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in the fall of 2016 at Talladega. Ryan Reed blew a right-front tire in his No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang Saturday afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway, ending his day early.

Ryan Reed has competed at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) seven times in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

One year ago at Bristol: Reed finished 21st in his No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang after an issue with the right-front wheel forced an unscheduled green-flag pit stop while the team was running 12th. Reed on Bristol: "Bristol is a track I definitely have circled as a place I need to get better at. At times we’ve shown speed there and the second race last year was probably the best I’ve been in my career at Bristol, but we got caught up in a wreck. We bring decent racecars to Bristol, but I just don’t quite get it done as a driver. Ryan Reed started the NASCAR XFINITY Series Service King 300 at Auto Club Speedway 15th in front of his hometown crowd and made the right adjustments throughout the race to secure a solid finish.

Extra time on pit road on the final stop to fix a tire rub due to contact, cost him valuable track position. The extended pit stop set him up 21st for the restart with six laps remaining. In 2014, he qualified 15th and finished 17th. He has steadily improved; in 2015, he qualified 12th and finish 11th. In 2016 Reed started 10th and overcame a pit road penalty to finish 14th. He has an average starting position of 12.3 and an average finishing position of 14.0 at the 2.0-mile track.
