Brandon McReynolds earned his first career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West win at Iowa on May 17th.

He added another accolade Friday night when he captured the Coors Light Pole Award for the Thanks Kenny 150 (the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combined event). The third out of 38 cars in qualifying, McReynolds set a time of 23.971 seconds (131.475 mph) to pace the field. Rico Abreu was the fastest K&N Pro Series East qualifier with a fast lap of 24.002 (131.239 mph) to earn the third overall starting position.

Brandon McReynolds will be aiming for another victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combination race at Iowa Speedway on Friday and on becoming the first driver with more than one win in the prestigious event.

He drove the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota to Victory Lane in May, in the first of two East-West events at the .875-mile track this year. The 24-year-old Mooresville, North Carolina driver was the 12th different driver to win in 12 combo races at Iowa dating back to 2007. Brandon McReynolds earned his first NASCAR victory in the the annual combination race between the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West.

He joins a list that includes defending NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Chase Elliott and national series drivers Cole Custer and Brandon Jones who won their first NASCAR race at the Midwest track whose slogan proclaims, appropriately, "Stars Are Made Here." McReynolds, driving the No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota for Bill McAnally Racing, became the second West driver in 12 races to win the combination race at Iowa. William Byron finished second and will be credited with a victory as the highest finishing NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver. It is the second win in four races for the 17-year-old, who won his first career 21 Means 21 Pole Award earlier in the day and is the series points leader.

Brandon McReynolds is at the top of the speed chart in the final practice leading to the K&NPS combined East and West Series Casey's General Store 150 at Iowa Speedway.

The No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota driver put up a 130.343 mph lap in the final practice. No. 34 Scott Heckert, No. 9 William Byron, No. 97 Jesse Little and No. 5 J.J. Haley are the rest of the top five and No. 84 Rich DeLong III was the slowest of the 39 cars running in this final session.
