As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Kevin Swindell wasn’t sure what he was doing this weekend, but he didn’t plan on racing.
That changed when Venturini Motorsports’ Billy Venturini called and offered him a chance to drive the No. 15 Zaxby’s Toyota on the one-mile dirt track in Springfield, Illinois. Swindell accepted the offer early Wednesday morning and took the team to victory lane Sunday afternoon. Swindell led 21 laps, taking the lead for good on lap 89 of the 100-mile, 100-lap Central Illinois SuperChevyStores.com 100. He held off ARCA Racing Series point leader Mason Mitchell, who got stronger at the end of the race, zipping from seventh to second over the final dozen laps. In doing so, he maintained his series point lead over Grant Enfinger, who led the most laps and finished third. Aug 17 - 9:02 PM

Kevin Swindell reunites with Venturini Motorsports (VMS) this weekend to substitute for driver John Wes Townley at the famed Springfield Mile driving the No.15 Zaxby’s Toyota.

Townley will miss his third consecutive ARCA race after an accident at Pocono Raceway on August 1, 2014. Swindell who drove eight races for VMS in 2012 earned his first series victory at Chicagoland Speedway. Since his stint with VMS, Swindell has gone on to race 18 NASCAR Nationwide races and made his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut in 2013 at Loudon earning a 38th place finish.-Venturini Motorsports

JGL Racing announced on Monday that the NASCAR Nationwide Series team has signed Kevin Swindell to drive for the team in select races throughout the remainder of the 2014 season.

Swindell's first race with the organization will be this Saturday's Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He will pilot the No. 93 Dodge with sponsorship from Curb Records and John Christner Trucking, Inc. He will be a teammate to J.J. Yeley in the No. 28 Dodge.

Kevin Swindell (98 Ford) wins the Duralast Brakes "Brake in the Race" award at Charlotte in the Nationwide Series.

The award is given to the highest eligible driver in the running order at the time of the first caution of each race. He started 17th, finished 16th and earned the award in the Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Swindell, who made 11 of the 30 races so far this season, is 27th in the 2013 NNS point standings.

Kevin Swindell will make his Sprint Cup Series debut this weekend when the dirt racing star competes at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the No. 30 car of Swan Racing.

Swan Racing owner, Brandon Davis, parted ways with former driver, David Stremme, after the event two weeks ago at Richmond, and said then he'd be looking at younger drivers the rest of the season with an eye toward filling the seat permanently for next year. Swindell has won 77 races in various dirt series. He has made 10 starts this season on the Nationwide tour driving the No. 98 of Biagi-DenBeste Racing, with a best finish of eighth at Indianapolis.

Kevin Swindell is the top rookie finisher in the Nationwide Series Indiana 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The No. 98 Ford Mustang driver started 18th and finished eighth. This was ahead of the rest of the 2013 Rookie of the Year contenders. Swindell, who made eight of the 19 NNS races so far this season, is currently 25th in the 2013 NNS point standings.

Of the teams required to make the field on speed, the lap of 171.189 mph in the No. 17 Ford Mustang was the fastest. The qualifying speed puts him 17th in the lineup for the Nationwide Series Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

Kevin Swindell and the #98 Biagi-DenBeste Racing team will take to the track this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

This will be the first race of the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series season for Swindell and the team. The Sam's Town 300 will mark Swindell's first time racing at the Las Vegas 1.5-mile oval. The Biagi-DenBeste Racing team has previously raced at the track five times, with a top finish of 18th. After competing for NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) team Biagi-DenBeste Racing last year at Texas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kevin Swindell will return to the team for select NNS races in 2013.

The team plans to compete in 15 NNS events this season and will first race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 9. Swindell, a sprint car standout, has been building his stock car experience, competing in the NNS, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the ARCA Racing Series, earning his first NASCAR pole in 2010 and taking home his first stock car win last year at Chicagoland Speedway. After competing in the NNS in 2002-2006, Biagi-DenBeste Racing returned to the series for select races in 2012. In addition to bringing back Swindell as the driver, Steve Plattenberger will continue to serve as the Team Manager and Competition Director with Jon Hanson as the crew chief.
