After starting outside the top 10, Spencer Gallagher (#23 Alamo Rent-A-Car Chevrolet Silverado) wasted no time, rapidly marching toward the front of the 32-truck field.

It was on Lap 28 that Gallagher claimed stake to the second position. During a lap 112 restart, Gallagher and the No. 23 suffered damage trying to avoid an accident. Spencer Gallagher (#23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado) led the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice session at Daytona International Speedway.

He ran a quick lap of 188.135 mph. #17 Timothy Peters, #29 Tyler Reddick, #98 Rico Abreu and #88 Matt Crafton round out the top five of the 38 trucks practicing for the NextEra Energy Resources 250. Jennifer Jo Cobb in the #10 Chevrolet Silverado was the slowest.

GMS Racing announced today that the team would field a single-car entry in select NASCAR XFINITY Series races throughout the 2016 season.

Spencer Gallagher is slated to pilot the team’s No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro beginning at Phoenix on March 12. GMS competes full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with Johnny Sauter, Gallagher and Grant Enfinger. Gallagher completed his first full-time NCWTS campaign in 2015, finishing 10th in the driver championship standings with one top-five and six top-10 finishes. Leading Gallagher through the next phase of his career will be crew chief Joey Cohen, who joins GMS Racing after serving as Lead Engineer for Roush Fenway Racing.-GMS Racing
