Hathaway and Dilley swapped the lead six times in the inaugural NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 race at Autodrome Chaudière and battled to the end on a green-white-checkered finish before Hathaway emerged with the win. It was the fourth series career victory for the driver of the No. 3 Rockstar Energy Drink/HGC Chevrolet out of Dutton, Ontario. Dating back to last season, it was Hathaway’s third triumph in his last five starts.

The difference between a top-10 driver and a top-five driver can sometimes be miniscule – a bobble here; a slip there – but more often than not it comes down to winning races, and not, which is huge.

At Riverside International Speedway, Jason Hathaway won for the first time since the 2008 season finale this year to end a 59-race winless streak. And to prove it wasn’t a fluke the driver of the No. 3 Snap-on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Dodge emerged victorious at Barrie Speedway just two races later. Jason Hathaway (No. 3 Dodge) placed 12th last season at Kawartha Speedway.

While D.J. Kennington and Scott Steckly are locked in a battle for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship, Jason Hathaway played spoiler Sunday by coming away with the win in the Hudco Electric Supply 300 presented by G-Oil.

Hathaway took the lead from Kennington on Lap 284 and the No. 3 Snap on Tools/Rockstar Energy Drink Chevrolet survived a green-white-checkered finish that pushed the race to 303 laps on the .333-mile tri-oval. Kennington settled for second in front of JR Fitzpatrick. Scott Steckly, who won the Heluva Good! Pole Award earlier in the day, finished fourth.

Jason Hathaway snapped a 59-race winless streak, claiming victory in the Wilson Equipment 300 on Saturday in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series action at Riverside International Speedway.

The Dutton, Ont., driver (No. 3 Dodge) took the lead on Lap 295 of the 300 lap event from Scott Steckly, who won the pole position earlier in the day, and survived strong competition from defending series champion D.J. Kennington and Steckly to earn his second career series win. His previous best finish at the track was fifth, achieved in the 2010 Antigonish event.
