Greg Pursley (26 Ford) remains in contention for the NKNPS-West championship heading into the series finale at Phoenix International Raceway.

Pursley, the 2011 series champion, has maintained momentum in the last half of the season, scoring four wins in the past seven races. A former Southern Californian who now calls Parker, Ariz., home – has three wins, four poles and seven top-fives in 10 starts at the one-mile venue that he considers his home track. Greg Pursley (26 Ford) wins the NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Kern County Raceway Park in the inaugural NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at the new high-banked, half-mile track.

It marked the fifth win of the season for the 2011 series champion and his 18th career series victory. With the win, Pursley moved back to second in the standings - 16 points behind Derek Thorn with one race remaining to decide the 2013 championship.

Greg Pursley (26 Ford) spoiled Derek Thorn's quest for two consecutive NASCAR K&N Pro Series West wins at NAPA Speedway, taking the victory in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by NAPA AutoCare Centers on Saturday night.

Saturday’s victory marked Pursley’s fourth win of the season and 17th career series victory. With the win, the driver of the No. 26 Gene Price Motorsports/Star Nursery/Real Water Ford moved from third in points to second – 20 markers behind Thorn, with three races remaining.

Greg Pursley led the way in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West practice on Saturday for the NAPA Auto Parts 150 by NAPA AutoCare Centers, topping the speed charts in both sessions at NAPA Speedway.

Pursley, of Newhall, Calif., navigated the half-mile paved oval in 20.136 seconds for an average speed of 89.392 mph. The pilot of the No. 26 GPM/Star Nursery/Real Water Ford led the first session with a time of 20.375 seconds (88.344 mph). Pursley is looking for his fourth win of 2013.

Greg Pursley (26 Ford) made sure that the second time he took the lead in the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Spokane County Raceway he held on to it.

The 2011 series champion pulled away in the closing laps en route to his third win of the season and 16th career victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Pursley initially took the lead from teammate and pole winner Cameron Hayley on the first lap, only to relinquish it five laps later. He made his charge to the front on a restart following the fourth and final caution of the event – taking the lead on Lap 115 and stretching that margin to win by 2.259 seconds.
