L.P. Dumoulin (47 Dodge) picked up right where he left off with Sunday's Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200.

The 34-year-old driver from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, returned to the site of his first career NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 Sunday and completed the season-sweep on the road course at Canadian Tire Series Motorsport Park. The 2011 series rookie of the year claimed the victory over runner-up Martin Roy and third-place Andrew Ranger after 42 laps under a yellow-checkered finish. D.J. Kennington, who took over the points lead. J.R. Fitzpatrick rounded out the top five.

L.P. Dumoulin (47 Dodge) leads the first practice for the Canadian Tire Clarington 200 at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, Ontario.

The lap of 105.123 mph was the quickest of the 36 cars out on the track for the first practice session. No. 22 Scott Steckly, No. 39 Alex Guenette, No. 28 Andrew Ranger and No. 84 J.R. Fitzpatrick are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 99 Paul Jean was the slowest.

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin topped the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 practice charts on Saturday for the 100 at Circuit de Trois-Rivieres.

Dumoulin, from Trois-Rivieres, navigated the 1.53-mile track in 67.670 seconds for a speed of 81.396 mph. He won his first series pole at this event last year en route to a second-place finish, his best in four starts at the track. Series defending champion D.J. Kennington was second fastest at 67.982 seconds (81.021 mph) followed by 2012 Rookie of the Year Martin Roy at 68.268 seconds (80.682 mph). IZOD IndyCar Series regular Alex Tagliani had the fourth-fastest car on the track at 68.410 seconds (80.515 mph) with Alex Labbe, another Quebec native, in fifth at 68.515 seconds (80.391 mph).-NASCAR PR

L.P. Dumoulin (No. 47 WeatherTech Canada/Bellemare Dodge) finished second a season ago in the 100 for his best finish in four starts in the GP3R.

Dumoulin registered his first Canadian Tire Series victory in the season opener on May 19 on the road course at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. He scored his first career pole win last season at Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Dumoulin was the 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Rookie of the Year. L.P. Dumoulin led a blistering pace as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series field put the qualifying record at Circuit ICAR in jeopardy during Saturday's practice for the Jiffy Lube 100.

Dumoulin was one of four drivers under the record set in 2011 by Alex Tagliani: 1 minute, 36.499 seconds (78.828 mph) around the 2.113-mile airport road-course. In the second of two 30-minute sessions, Dumoulin put up a lap of 1:36.116 (79.142). Scott Steckly was second at 1:36.168 (79.099) and defending race winner Andrew Ranger was third at 1:36.428 (78.886). Jeff Lapcevich (1:36.489/78.836) also posted a lap under Tagliani's time. DJ Kennington rounded out the top five. Dumoulin led the first practice at 1:37.402 over Steckly and JF Dumoulin.-NASCAR PR
