Brendan Gaughan will be making his fifth NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the 1.5-mile tri-oval Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night.

Brendan Gaughan is currently tied for seventh in the driver point standings as the Nationwide Series heads the final road course race of the season at Mid-Ohio.

He is no stranger to road courses, but will turn his first Nationwide Series laps at the 2.258-mile road course on Friday during the first session of practice for the Series. He will pilot chassis No. 143 in the Children's Hospital 200. It was used at both road courses this season with the No. 62eam. Most recently at Watkins Glen last weekend, Gaughan finished 28th. Brendan Gaughan started 9th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International.

On lap 21 and lap 28 Gaughan was forced to make a pit stops after getting grass on the grille. The RCR team fought hard to move up through the field and, on lap 52, took over the race lead. Late race battles caused the No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro to pick up grass on the track, causing the water temperature to rise and forcing the team to visit pit road to cool down. Gaughan crossed the finish line in 28th-place as he and the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino team moved up to seventh in the driver point standings as the Series heads to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course next weekend.-Richard Childress Racing

Brendan Gaughan will make his fourth start this weekend at the 2.45-mile Watkings Glen road course.

His most recent start was in 2013 with his current team, Richard Childress Racing, qualifying 16th and finishing 14th. Gaughan also has one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start in 2004. Brendan Gaughan tops the speed chart in the Happy Hour practice session for the Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway.

The No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro driver ran a fast lap of 133.469 mph. No. 5 Josh Berry, No. 29 Kenny Wallace, No. 16 Ryan Reed and No. 6 Trevor Bayne round out the top five of the 38 cars out on the track. The No. 72 driven by John Jackson was the slowest in the final practice session.

Brendan Gaughan returns to the 7/8-mile oval Iowa Speedway to make his sixth Nationwide Series start in Saturday night's race.

He qualified 10th and finished 12th at Iowa in May, and averages a 15th-place start and 18.4-place finish. He will pilot chassis No. 130 in the U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa. This chassis has seen track action at Texas Motor Speedway in April and Iowa Speedway in May. Gaughan finished 12th in both events this season.-Richard Childress Racing

Brendan Gaughan and the South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet Camaro started the NASCAR Nationwide Series Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the 17th position.

With the threat of a mechanical issue early in the race, crew chief Shane Wilson took advantage of the first caution on lap 15 to bring him in to evaluate the situation. The No. 62 Camaro restarted 31st and Gaughan battled to overcome the early issues throughout the day, working his way up to 14th on lap 46. He finished his day at the Brickyard in 19th-place. He is currently eighth in the driver point standings as the series heads to Iowa Speedway next weekend.-Richard Childress Racing
